Excellent CL

Our second visit to this lovely site, this time we were pitched on the top site overlooking Ramsey Sound. The views are stunning especially of the setting sun.  The grass is mown regularly and the site kept tidy. The owners are very friendly and helpful.  We took our bikes this time and spent most days cycling the quiet lanes around  St David's over to Solva and Porthgain.  At £10 a night this well kept and quiet site is excellent value and we hope to visit again soon.

A stunning coastline!

This site, situated almost at the end of a road/track that ends with the next farm is fairly easy to find. The approach is narrow but perfectly ok if you take your time. The owners, when we finally met them could not have been nicer, very helpful and very busy with the farm which is a sheep farm.  The site is flat, the grass well maintained and the local walking is beyond compare. The coastline is beautiful in this area, and a 15min walk puts you in a little bay which is lovely. The coastal path passes all the way around the coast so no matter which way you go, there is always good walking. Wildlife abounds around here and the first spotting of the elusive chough was a great joy.  Recycling was available in a shed on site.  Further afield, St David's is definitely worth a visit and the cathedral is a must. St David's is served by a Nisa supermarket and that is very well stocked and the meat is to die for : there is a reduced section with astounding bargains so for BBQers it's a must. A bus service runs every half hour along various routes North and south at £1 per journey. Well worth the money if you wish to explore further out although the LOCAL AREA is stunning. One place I can recommend is 'The Shed' at Porthgain. You just have to try the fish and chips!! £10 a night I thought was a little heavy for a non EHU site and when we found out the awning was £2 a night - another £30 was a bit of a shock and, it was getting toward hook up prices. Apart from that, it is a lovely part of the world and well worth a visit. I would recommend without hesitation.

Peaceful Site

We spent 2 nights on this site over the May bank holiday weekend. We received a warm & helpful welcome. The grass on the site was short and the site is very well placed for walking around St David's headland and Porthskilly Beach through the owners fields. Highly recommended site.

Superb CL, Amazing location.

We stayed in July. . . .the weather was very warm & sunny, the experience was excellent! The couple running the farm are very friendly and helpful & also very busy on the farm. We booked in by going to the porch and signing a leaflet, leaving money and collecting some very useful info including walks from the farm along the coast. Great job, well done, so helpful! Soon after we met Rob on his quad bike with his dogs :-), he showed us 2 fields and we stayed on the top one. The view out to sea & Ramsey Island was spectacular. We watched the sun go down from our pitch every night, wonderful. This followed on from a sadly disappointing stay at Brecon and was a total contrast in every respect. So if you are OK with limited services . . water tap, bottomless bin sunk in the ground for waste (works really well!) & no hook up . . . .then I couldn't recommend this site any more strongly. If you want a spectacular view and don't mind it a bit windy then choose the top field! 5 * all the way!

The pick of the West

Stayed at this site twice this summer, both times a joy, the site is quiet, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Good welcome - owners are busy but still made time to chat on Saturday change over day If you are looking for a place to recharge away from the rat race this is it. Not too many of you I hope

Wonderful CL, brilliant owners

My husband's family have been going to Treginnis since he was a baby (he is almost 50!!) and his parents still spend most of August there. Both ourselves and his sister's family try and visit when they are there and all four grandchildren (all now teenagers) are following the tradition of loving the place. Many of the other summer visitors are also long-term visitors, which says a lot. The beauty and peace are unrivalled, there is access via a couple of fields to a small cove and it is close to the coast path. Yes it can (and often is!) wet - but this is West Wales not Spain and yes there are narrow lanes on the approach, but they are worth it for the stunning location. Rob and Eleri are wonderful hosts, very friendly and accommodating. We certainly don’t recognise the ‘owner abrupt’ description of another reviewer.

Back to basics at it's best!

I've been coming to this site for 10 years & it's our favourite cl sites in the UK. Owners always welcoming & friendly & the site is well kept & mown regularly. Ideal & peaceful location with stunning walks along the coastal path around St David's head.
