Ease of arrival/welcome

May 2014

We booked at short notice (2 weeks) and were telephoned back by Len (site owner) to arrange arrival.  Very warm an friendly welcome.  Although listed as 1/2 acre available for caravans, that is only the CL bit of the site.  It is much larger than that giving plenty of room.  The site is secure (padlocked gate to which you are given a key), surrounded by trees and cannot easily be seen from the road.  When you go through the gate, the site opens up into an immaculate grass site, well kept and secluded.  Road access is good, with a large entrance to allow you to get off the road while alerting Len to your arrival.  The site has a "central avenue" of small trees, with level grass on both sides.  The trees were in blossom during our stay, which added to the "wow" factor on arrival.  Loads of bird life visiting the from the surrounding area, including a resident green woodpecker and a few ducks.   Roads quiet at night, so don't worry about any daytime traffic.  The weekend of our stay, the weather was forecast to be poor, so we were sited on a hardstanding area, which for the 2 night stay suited us.  Pictures will be posted on www.eastsussexcc.org.uk to give a better view of the site.  Will be returning to this site.

Ideal for Southend/Leigh/Rochford by bike

A very pleasant, secure (gated) and quiet site. Extremely well kept by Len. Local store (Co-op) and pub in Hullbridge and an Asda supermarket only a mile or so away. I found it ideal as a base for visiting the Southend/Leigh on Sea/Rochford area on my bike. Cycling through Hockley Woods and on down to Leigh was a dream, much of the route was off road.

Very tidy CL

First time here and it is won't be the last, the CL is a fairly large level grassed area surrounded by established hedges and trees. The whole area is kept immaculate with striped grass! Obviously a lot of care is taken by the owner. Basic CL facilities, electric and elsan point and you get a key for the main gate on arrival. Access to the CL is good and there is enough space to drive in and wait before being let into the CL so you aren't left overhanging the road. From the CL you can visit Battlesbridge antiques, about 10mins drive and there is a mini market very close. All in all a nice a CL
