8 Nights in March at Topley Head Farm
Very glad we stayed here. Fantastic view over the Peak District limestone plateau. Pitches reasonably spaced and in a row so everyone gets a clear view. You turn into the farm drive from the A6, but the farm location and length of the drive means you cannot hear the road. Very peaceful. Friendly welcome - allowed me to park the car near a barn away from the pitch so that the car wasn't in our view. The fence on the other side of the access track from the pitches has been remade. The hardstanding was wide enough to comfortably accommodate both the caravan and the porch awning. Hardstandings getting slightly overgrown but that didn't detract from their effectiveness and in wet weather the rain soaked away well. It was a wet March (is there any other kind?) and the access track was pretty muddy and the ground under the grass was very soft, so it was boots or wellies if we wanted to stray beyond our pitch, even to go to the water tap or waste disposal. The access track is also fairly narrow which meant it wasn't possible to park the caravan and to tow it away when leaving without going onto the grass which churned it up because the ground is soft. The track is my only criticism. We would certainly stay again, though hopefully in a spell of dry weather!
