Lovely site in the Hertfordshire hills
We stayed here for 3 nights in April and it proved to be a good base for exploring the surrounding area. Specifically, we wanted to visit Saffron Walden, Royston Cave and Wimpole Hall National Trust House.
We had a slight issue getting through the farm gate to enter the site (we didn't know what button to press to open the electric gate) but a phone call to the owners, Robert and Frances, solved the problem straight away.
The site is mostly flat (we didn't need any chocks) and although there are no toilets, there is a service point at each pitch (electric hook-up, fresh water, and drain for grey water waste).
Although the members' handbook didn't mention black waste disposal facilities, there is one on this site, which is always good to know!
The A505 is a couple of hundred yards away so it's just background noise. It is a little tricky getting onto this road; you'll need to be patient, especially in rush hour!
There are lovely views across the fields and hills with horses and sheep. (This is a working farm).
Frances told us of the many footpaths to explore, something we'll do next time we visit.
Overall, a lovely quiet site for exploring Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and North Essex
