End June 2019 enjoyable stay

Arrived on 29th June. No one to greet us just a sign in window of office to say sorry and to pitch up wherever. Took the only space and luckily not newbies so knew what to do. Across the road and over a little bridge is a section of the Montgomeryshire canal, well what a find, its a beautiful walk! Second day we walked almost 9 miles with a picnic half way. So much birdlife ( ducks geese and swans and babies too) we were lucky to have a super sunny day. Called in to the office to catch up with, and pay the owners who apologised for being away when we arrived but that was all we saw of them - however our ‘motorhome neighbours’ were friendly and full of advice. Happily go back to walk the canal in the opposite direction 😊 Chickens and ducks wander freely through the pitches which entertained our dog ... short leads needed !

Lovely

We saw The Vine on the Caravan Club website, and decided to book for 7 nights in June. We were not disappointed, the site is well set out with large level hardstanding pitches, and may I add fully serviced. Everything was very neat and tidy. For us oldies who only want to stroll, across the road is the Montgomery Canal. We had all the bad rain, but the site did not become waterlogged. Ruth and James were very friendly along with the resident hens, ducks and a very large cockeral .WE WILL BE BACK.

LOVELY CL SITE

Just booked and stayed on this great cl for 4nights (mid nov),very easy access and very clean tidy site.Water, grey waste drain and electric on each clean hardstanding pitch.Toilet disposal and recycling very good.Made welcome by the owner (ruth). Visited by the resident chickens, cockerel, ducks and lovely cat each day. Cockerel wakes up early and a bit of road noise but not a problem to us on the nearest pitch to the road. Tables for your use (weather permitting)on the grass area in front of pitches.Pitch lighting comes on at dusk. Nice views from site with canal walks outside the site. A great site we will be visiting again in the future 110 miles from home. B & B Northants

Welcoming and relaxing!

Booked a pitch for 2 nights but unfortunately couldn’t tow on the Friday night due to strong winds contacted Ruth and explained the situation she was so understanding and accommodating and said we could arrive sat morning and choose any pitch we liked. The site has 5 very spacious serviced pitches it is so very well kept. Met Ruth and James and they were so welcoming really felt at home there, it was very quiet and relaxing, we had 2 children with us and they loved meeting the goats and watching the chickens and ducks. Had a lovely walk along the canal to the Horse Shoe Inn and had a lovely meal. We will definitely be back and will spread the word about this lovely site, can’t wait to visit in the summer so much space for kids to play. Many thanks for a lovely weekend we will be back!!

Wish all cls were like this.

We stayed here for a weekend as we were attending a wedding party in Ardleen. The site is a real credit to Ruth and James. It's a perfect getaway if you want peace and quiet. They deserve to do really well as it's a fairly new site.Would definitely return.

Promising newcomer to the network

We found this site on the club website as it’s new to the network, indeed it had been open only a couple of weeks. It has been laid out expertly by Ruth’s late father in law and the facilities are as good as if not better than some of the basic club sites. Lots of walks possible from site, mostly on the canal, but many footpaths in the area have disappeared since our OS map was published, which was frustrating. The Powis Inn at Pool Bank is well worth a visit and is walkable in less than an hour, but we never found the Horse Shoes in Arddleen open during our stay. The King’s Head at Guilsfield is reputedly good, but was booked out when we called. A bus service passes the site a few times in the week but we didn’t use it as our OAP passes aren’t valid in Wales. No doubt this CL will take off when it appears in the sites handbook and we would have no hesitation returning another time.

Lovely site

This is a beautiful site with very spacious flat pitches. I booked our stay ahead of time but as we were running behind messaged to cancel - Ruth was lovely and just said no problem and hope to see us another time. We actually did manage to get there and just pitched up. Ruth’s husband was there and was most welcoming. A lovely site with beautiful walk down the river to a nice pub. We will definitely stay there again and would recommend anyone else to.

The Vine Caravan&Motorhome Park

We arrived on this site on Saturday afternoon and what a gem, Ruth and James were out so we pitched up ourselves, all pitches are hardstanding with electricity water and waste, also toilet disposal fenced off nearby. There is a bus stop at the gate and buses are regular, across the road is the Montgomery canal with lovely walks, you can walk along to the local pub in 20 minutes, if you go right there are nice scenes of the old locks, local free range eggs are also available from neighbours. No toilet or shower but it is a CL, all in all it is a lovely site and we will be back.PS: keep an eye out for Rex the friendly rooster Peter And Dorothy.
