Ideal cycling base

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend at this site. I initially chose it because of its proximity to the Marriott Way, but sadly the section between Cawston and Aylsham is badly overgrown with nettles and brambles & we weren't prepared to take a chance on the opposite direction being any clearer so only used it once. However, there are plenty of quiet country lanes in the area offering scenic cycle routes. The site itself is peaceful, secluded and secure. There is some daytime traffic noise from the road through the village, but it quietens down during the evening. The local rabbit population do a good job of keeping the grass well trimmed - just watch out for their burrows near the recycling bins! Being surrounded by trees and hedges there are no big views from your pitch, but it has the advantage of making the site quite a suntrap. We didn't try the village pub, but our neighbours did & reported that they'd had a delicious, straightforward pub meal. If you want something fancier (especially if steak is your thing) try The Ratcatchers about a mile outside the village.
