Handy for Barmouth - by car or cycle
We stayed here over May half-term so were only able to stay 2 nights as it was full when we booked in April. Nice location above the main road and railway so not too much noise. Hardstandings are set in the lawned area so you have to drive over the grass to get to them - we are fairly heavy but we didn't have too many problem getting to our spot. Our pitch did seem to be very close to the caravan next door, or perhaps they had a huge awning?! There is a Camping and Caravanning club CS site in the next field and facilities seem to be shared. Friendly owners, though we didn't need to bother them during our stay. We were able to cycle into Barmouth (on the road for a mile and then down a track to the promenade) and over the railway bridge, then down the Mawddach trail towards Dollgellau. It's a 2 mile walk otherwise. Barmouth is a bit tired with tacky seaside shops,, but there are good food stores, post office, library and free WIFI in the tourist info office.
