What an introduction to CLs !!

After over 3 years of staying on typical Touring Park sites, we decided to try a CL for our maiden voyage with our new folding camper. What a pleasant surprise! The Mill House site is huge, the grass is very well maintained, and as other reviewers have written the loo is small but is kept clean throughout the day. Nigel made us most welcome and informed us of the local attractions - including The Admiral Hood PH which is just a short walk from the site. We enjoyed a lovely meal there where the friendly staff made Donata, me and our German Shepherd Dog Freddie very welcome. The one slightly negative comment I have to make is that the road along side the CL can become a little noisy especially when groups of motorcycle enthusiasts pass by. But that is no fault of the CL, it is just the result of others enjoying themselves - and as 'retired' motorcycle enthusiasts ourselves, it is not a criticism of them. We have just booked another CL stay in a few weeks time. We will be very happy if it is nearly as good as this one.

Lovely site, very welcoming owner

We have just returned from two nights at this lovely site. Nigel is very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The grass is well looked after and very large pitches. We would definitely return, thank you for your hospitality Nigel!

Lovely Holiday

Spent a lovely 10 days here - relatively easy access to site - just need to spot the CL sign, use the pub as reference. Large field, well mown and well spaced pitches - storage facility runs behind the CL and there were one or two people staying there so a bit overlooked from behind - but beautiful views and good access in either direction to lots of local places of interest. Pub is excellent value but BUSY - you need to book, shop is very handy just across the road. Nigel is very knowledgeable and friendly and will point you in the right direction whatever your interests. Great for dogs too - good walking on local fields. Great value at £10 a night. The toilet is perfectly adequate and kept clean. Would we stay again? If we came back to Dorset yes, we probably would.

Excellent, economical, well kept site

A good sized field which is kept well mown with no loose grass clippings. There are 5 electrical hook-ups with plenty of space between them. The field has a gentle slope that helps drainage towards the small stream that runs down one side. Levelling is not a problem -jockey wheel adjustment being sufficient to counter the slight slope. The toilet is quite basic, but is kept clean. Nigel, the site owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. There are good country walks, with the River Parret Trail commencing quite close by. The local pub (Admiral Hood) is just a couple of hundred yards up the road that runs through Mosterton. The pub has a good menu and seems to be very busy. It is both child and dog friendy and serves a very good pint! The main road is busy and care should be taken when crossing, which is necessary as the pavement is not continous when walking to the pub.

A fantastic CL Site

A really well looked after site with great sized pitches. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. The dog walking facilities are great, you can walk across his fields. We will definitely be staying again.

The Field

The entrance to the site is somewhat unattractive but once inside there is a very pleasant green open space to enjoy with views over the surrounding countryside. The owner is very welcoming and obliging. The wc/whb facility is a tin structure that causes some amusement with visiting friends, but is kept very clean and is good working order. Wednesday night in the Admiral Hood pub is pie night (£6) and was packed early on. Easy walking distance to post office/store also.

A great CL in a perfect location

We stayed here mid August 2013 The owner keeps this CL immaculate and make sure you are happy staying there, he is very helpful and has a good knowledge of the area and local events. CL is a well looked after clean area with lawn like grass surface with collected clippings so now grass cuttings in the van ! Another plus point is the old pub just a couple of hundred yards away with a good menu. We found the area perfect for walking Mosterton village is between Crewkerne & Beaminster. TV reception is excellent very strong signal ,however if you are on o2 there is no signal at all, but all other networks are good my 3 network dongal had a good 3g signal so my mobile internet was good. I will certainly be back to use this CL again we had a great time there and were made very welcome.
