We've been touring the British Isles for 40 years, mostly using smaller sites and joined both of the major clubs, mainly for the use of the CLs & CSs, and have found some gems along the way. The Hen Run is definitely one of those. Situated on the edge of the beautiful village of Huggate, on the Yorkshire Wolds, and immediately next door to the excellent Wolds Inn, it could not be better placed to offer you a magnificent place to stay. 16amp power and your own water supply direct to every pitch where, if like me, you have the Aquaroll Mains Adaptor, it makes life so much easier for a weeks stay. No danger of the water running out mid shower.
Lovely views from the site, easy access to all parts of East, West, & North Yorkshire and all they have to offer, stunning scenery & many, many visitor attractions. This was our second visit after discovering it last summer and we will be back.
Thank you Graham & Lesley.
We spent 2 nights at this lovely peaceful site that has lovely views over the Wolds. We cycled both days and found the hills very challenging mixed with quiet rambling lanes . It has lovely scenery to enjoy by bike. The pub next to the site has very friendly staff and an excellent choice of food. There is also a lovely tearoom in the Village that has lovely cakes .
We look forward to our next visit.
We were recommended this site by some friends and spent 1 night here. We booked last minute and Graham was very accommodating. The communication was great.
It's a fantastic site with great views across the wolds and has walks in every direction.
It's located at the end of the village, next door to a fab pub that does the best wood fired pizzas we have ever eaten!
Its a gem of a site and we will most certainly be back!
The Hen Run is in a gorgeous location with fantastic view across the Yorkshire Wolds. It is a lovely site with plenty of space and just five pitches and a lovely meadow.
There are lots of beautiful walks in all directions from the site which take in the Yorkshire Wolds Way, Minster Way and Chalklands Way. It's on the edge of the lovely village with a great pub and tea room. The pub is right next to the site and serves amazing food from sandwiches, pub food including Sunday lunches and it has a lovely new patio with a wood fired pizza oven with pizza's the best I have had. (Wolds Inn)
Graham - the site owner called to see us the following day and was really helpful and welcoming.
It really is a gorgeous site with great access to some of the best walking in the Yorkshire Wolds. We will be back!
What a little gem, great views across the Yorkshire Wolds, very nice pub next door ( great food) and a lovely tea room just down the road all tried out personally.
We booked for the bank holiday weekend to spend sometime walking on the Yorkshire Wolds Way, the village of Huggate is a charming Wolds village with warm and friendly people - we took a walk around the village on the afternoon and it took us two hours due to the amount of people who stopped and talked to us.
The electricity and water supply were both very good and supplied to all pitches, the site is facing down hill so make sure to take levelling chocks and the road runs along the back of the site but low level of traffic.
I will be returning hopefully very soon.
