Entertaining weather !

Entertaining weather characterised our visit in early June 24, with gusty winds and squally rain for much of our short 2-day visit. This did little to mar the spectacular vista from Dunnet head in the west and then across the Pentland Firth to Hoy, and the island of Stroma, though cloud obscured the views quite a bit. You really have a completely uncluttered view - what a privilege ! In terms of the CL itself, the layout is pretty much faultless, with hard standings and services to each pitch. The site is sloping so be prepared for that so you can get level. A motor mover will definitely help with pitching a trailer caravan. We were able to walk to Castle of Mey, took us around 25 mins. And John O’Groats is just a short drive. With more time we could have done more walking as the coastline is simply spectacular. Nothing to fault at this CL !

Thanks for taking the time to write such a great review Peter! The weather can make it more of an adventure - that's our spin anyway lol. Such a shame though - we had a lovely June last year. Having said that, it's been pretty dreary down south as well by all accounts so there's some comfort in that at least. :-)
