Just had a three night stay at Sarclet, clifftop site with amazing walks North and south on The John o Groats trail. As said before the history of the area is wonderful and the deserted fishing inlet is a magical place to walk down to.
Rose early every morning to watch the sun come up over the horizon and sat witha glass watching the moon appear on an evening, Was treated to a Harvest moon which was amazing.
Met several crofting neighbours who were so welcoming and ready to outline the community history of the area.
Looking to return during the Orca watching season and oh yes the site is first class and facilities excellent.
Small plus point is the waste disposal point is at waist height which is a relief if you have a bad back.
Well done Wendy and David, you already feel like friends.

A gem of a find, absolutely stunning place to stay. David and Wendy are doing a fantastic job of running the site.
Extremely helpful and welcoming to us & our new pup, nothing was to much trouble.
We stayed two nights weather was pretty wet & windy first night but this will certainly not deter us from visiting again & for a longer stay x
Hidden gem on NC500
Now under new ownership, David and Wendy honoured our existing booking. Lovely tidy site, at the end of the lane through the hamlet of Sarclet, right near the coast and cliffs. A very short walk takes you down to the sheltered cove that was once a bustling herring port. stunning views out to sea from the flat and level pitches. 15 minute drive and you are in the centre of Wick.
The CL is a good stop for the NC500, spend a few days and catch your breath.
EHU is provided and is on a meter, charged separately to the stay.
Excellent site
Excellent CL site and a perfect stopover for our NC500 route. Lovely remote site with sea views. We had a very friendly welcome from Pauline. Good spacious pitches. We didn’t see the alpacas; maybe they were indoors. Had to watch out for the chickens on the road on our way in though! Had everything we needed from a CL. Would recommend.
NC500 stop
What an amazing site. We were greeted by the really friendly and welcoming owners. Clearly a lot of time and money has been spent on this new site. Good sized level hard standing pitches, individually and clearly spaced out. With a fantastic view out over the sea. Good coastal walks direct from the site. If only all CLs had this much love and attention. Thank you.

Great site, wonderful location, friendly hosts
This is a relatively new site that isn’t in the book yet. Pitches well laid out with ehu charged by usage. We got a friendly welcome from the hardworking owners. Great views, close to NE500 and coastal footpath. Easy walk down to Sarclet Haven, a former fishing harbour. There are alpacas on site and it’s fun to watch them. The owners run alpaca experiences too. We spent one night here on our way north but could easily have stayed longer.

What a view
A very well laid out site with all you need, plus the fun of watching Alpacas in the field next door. Very friendly and helpful owners.
And what a view - an almost 180°view of the sea.
I stayed for one night but wish I'd known how lovely it was as I'd have booked longer.
Lots of placed of interest nearby.
Thanks for a lovely stop over and for the help with my dog.
