Disappointed

Very easy to check in and pay although £15 not £7.50 as said here (please update). Pitches alongside a road that was quite busy so some noise. Toilet accessed via padlock with code but…. No loo paper and handwash bottle was empty. Don’t think they check these facilities very often. Didn’t really want to go in pub to report this so took my own but wouldn’t return because of this.

It's just a field really

I expected the pitch to cost £7.50 since that's what this site says, (not sure how to request a change to that) the actual cost is £15 which includes electric but we didn't actually need electric so asked if they done a price without electric and they don't, despite the huge size of the field that could accomodate 12-16 campers, they only had 6-8 electric points. £15 is pretty reasonable including electric though I must admit. The field was well tended to and neat, the water and toilet are a bit far away in a very busy car park so I had to sort out my water and waste the next morning when the pub was closed. The black waste is emptied into an outdoor toilet exclusive to campers but it's not a great facility with very little ventilation too so it can become a bit smelly! Unfortunately where you park for the electric is right next to a road. It's a relatively quiet road but you can definitely hear the traffic noise. There are places to walk but they aren't special.

Dissapointing

What a disappointment! 3 motorhomes booked for the night & a meal. When we arrived the field looked wet & I asked in the pub when we paid & was told "well it has rained" Unfortunately we then got completed stuck in the middle of the field. After a while a friendly customer offered to tow us out & we parked up the corner of the carpark with our friend who had turned up. We were then told you can't stay there, you have to stay in the field! Consequently we got a refund & all of us left & went to The Spotgate Inn a mile down the road & had a great meal & free parking for the night! Apparently others had already been towed out days before! Very unhelpful staff who lost 3 bookings & 6 meals. £15 per night per unit (refunded)

Gem

Lovely site with easy access, very friendly owner, great food on-site, handy for local attractions : what's not to like. Reasonable fees. We aim to return. Highly recommended.

Fine for a short stay

This is a handy little site for the area. The CL is situated at the back of the pub, and a country road runs on the other side of the hedge, not busy though. The price is £16.00 per night and not £7.50 as stated. We used this site to visit the surrounding area. The toilet has a code to enter, and could do with some improvements..

Great find on our journey

We stayed on this CL as a overnight halt on a long journey and were very pleased. The site was well behind the Pub with a massive well kept field with the electric spread down the length on one side. Water and Elsan point where towards the back of the pub and easy to access. We booked a table for the evening and was not disappointed. Food choice and quality was great. Departure in the morning was as smooth as the arrival. Would use again, Thanks

Fine Dining and Caravanning

A fabulous couple of days were had at the Black Lake Inn, a great little site with the added luxury of fine dining in the onsite restaurant, the food as always is amazing and served by attentive staff. Lee was welcoming on arrival and gave a clear overview of the facilities etc. nothing is too much trouble.... We look forward to a return shortly!

Great weekend

Warm welcome at the pub a very nice pub too, huge field with plenty of space, a "stones" throw away from Stone, Stoke and Trentham so lots of things nearby to do and places to visit. Lots of nearby takeaways if you dont want to cook. Great site in a easy to get to location. Will most certainly stay there again and the real bonus - £10.00 per night inc hook up. Bargain.

Great place to stay

The site is a large level gated field behind the pub's car-park and so there is loads of space for 5 units. The welcome was really friendly and the grass was a nice length. The loo is at the rear of the pub, accessible by key. We ate in the Inn and our meals were good value. Tuesday is Pie & Prosecco night with a specials menu of a selection of pies with chips & peas for £5.99. We didn't try one but they looked good and the Inn was really busy with diners. The pub does not allow dogs inside but there is a large beer garden and outside seating which are dog accessible. £10 incl EHU. We will return in future.
