Disappointing

I’m sorry but this is not being run within the spirit of a CL. We booked for one night in August and turned up to find all the hard standings taken. We had to stay in an adjacent grassed field with 3 other units; that’s 9 in all when the limit is 5!! We were told that 3 of the people on the hard standings shouldn’t have been there but because we were only staying for one night there was no point moving them! It is advertised as having a toilet which is great between 5 units but we were now sharing with 9!! Why do we pay to be a member of the Club if we are not going to be treated as such?!! Don’t get me wrong the setting is lovely and the owner was perfectly civil but seemed very pleased that he could somehow get around the Caravan Club CL rules. He even asked us if we had booked a hard standing...hang on it’s advertised as all hard standings so we shouldn’t have to book one specially. We won’t be returning and would warn any potential bookers to be wary.

I think you should tell the club's CL Dept about the abuse of the terms of their exemption, Phil. They’re putting the whole CL system in jeopardy.

Thanks for the warning.

Disappointed to read this review, and to know that the CL exceeded the 5 van rule. We stayed here last June and there were only 5 units on site, and the field next to the site had ponies in it during our stay.

As has been said,  it puts the whole CL network in jeopardy cry and unfortunately over booking seems to be happening more often .
