Tucked away in this beautiful countryside near Yate is the most peaceful and tranquil gem of a site, basic but kept immaculate by the owners who are friendly and accommodating, very spacious nice walks we will be returning often
Lovely site next to lake.
We had a lovely night stay at this CL site, the grounds were clean and tidy and a warm welcome when we arrived. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of noise, apparently, due to some building works near to the site, which we could hear up until 5pm. As it was only a one night stay it was not too much of an issue, however, it was a bit of a shame as we could imagine it being very tranquil if the noise wasn't there.
Beautiful Spacious Site
This site is beautiful, spacious and quite. It has a locked gate so very secure, we were given the code on arrival. The site is kept clean and tidy, it has lovely views of the lake. If in the area we would choose to stay again.
Nice for a week
We had a lovely quiet week. Our first away this year. As someone else said, it was so peaceful we overslept most mornings. There was a 6.30 call from the pair of Canada geese which lasted about 10 minutes. We just turned over and went back to sleep. Bath and Bristol may not be far away but like all cities the traffic there is a nightmare. We'd definitely recommend it and would go there again.
Tranquil setting
We stayed here for a week during one of the few dry weeks during June 2012, we were greeted amiably enough by the owner who showed us to our pitch, and explained where everything was and if I wished to fish the on site lake it would be £4 a day.
The site is clean and very tidy with the grass being cut on a regular basis and plenty of room between vans.
The site is very rural and not within walking distance of a pub or restaurant, however it is very, very quiet with the result we found ourselves over sleeping most mornings.
there are some good walks in the area with two we found directly from the site.
Retail therapy can be obtained easily in nearby Yate or Bristol and Bath all within an easy car car ride. For eating out or just for the quick drink Chipping Sodbury is well worth a visit.
It is a site we will use again, either for a few days or as a stop over as junction 14 of the M5 is only 15 minutes away.
Peaceful
We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend at the end of March. It was our first stay at a CL site and we were unsure what to expect, I can thankfully say this location lived up to our expectations of peace and tranquility away from a large busy site. The owners live in a house opposite the site and it was requested that we called at this address upon arrival. The greeting was not overly friendly but were told to set up near to the lake due to the soft ground from recent rain and informed where the toilet was. That was the last we saw of the owner until we called to say goodbye and to pay when we left!
The site overlooks a fishing lake and although we do not fish the location was idyllic. We woke each morning to the sun on the water and only the very occasional sound of a car on the road outside. Electric hookups were plentiful for the number of caravans and the water and waste disposal was nearby.
The toilet was a downside! There is only one unisex which is an outside one situated by the owners house so if you wish to visit you must leave the field and cross the road! There is also no shower facility so you must be prepared to be fairly self sufficient.
LocalPlacesOfInterest great, in Bristol city centre within 20mins and visited Highgrove in Tetbury which was just 30mins. The site itself is very rural and located along a country lane.
We had a great holiday and would recommend site, not only to those who fish but to those who just like quietness and a feeling they have located a little unknown gem!
