Okay for an overnight stay

We were unsure on arrival as to which pitch we should be on as the whiteboard had not been updated. We took the reason for this being that we were the only ones on the CL site so chose our pitch and hoped for the best. There was a payment box in the toilet/shower block, so we didn't actually see the owners at all but as we were only there for the one night this was fine with us. There were quite a number of caravans on the rally field as there had been an event on, but these didn't disturb us at all. As previously mentioned, there are a lot of old vehicles on site, many in a state of disrepair, which left us feeling like we were on a car scrap yard! Unfortunately this site wasn't for us, okay for a one night stop but wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer.

Confusing entry system

On arrival there is an electronic screen, to show where you will be pitched. We couldn’t figure it out, but then the owner came along and took a photo of the screen on my phone and explained where we were supposed to be. We were still confused as the screen shows numbered pitches but then the marked spaces in the field aren’t numbered. Adding to our confusion was that we had booked a CL with hook up (knowing this was near the toilet block) and we were directed to a field on a pitch without hook up - there were empty pitches available on the CL so not sure why this was, as we had paid for hook up.we were only there 1 night and were tired after our journey, but not particularly happy. Last time we were there a few years ago there was an honest box for payment, seems to have gone from 1 extreme to another.

Good base although noisy on party nights

This is a small CL with clean and well-kept toilet and shower facilities. Close to Alderley Edge, it provides a good base to visit the local National Trust properties such as Lyme Park and the dramatic walks along the Edge. The farm also hosts a large rally field which has a marquee when we visited as well as the owner’s large collection of old vehicles, many of which appear to be in various stages of disrepair. What we were not aware of until 9.30 on Saturday evening is that the farm is also a venue for parties which, in our case, involved a much amplified pop group which played until 11.30pm followed by 30 minutes of traffic noise as the guests left. Had we been informed of this we would have left early.

Great little spot

This CL is the most local CL to where we live and is absolutely perfect for a wknd away, feels miles away from home. The small CL site has everything you need. There is also 2 rally fields. We wanted to add an extra night and the helpful owners couldn't accommodate on the CL but offered us a space on the rally field. We pitched in the wrong field when we arrived. The owners were kind enough to let us stay where we were which was very much appreciated. There is a lovely dog walk and plenty of space for teenagers. Not that ours wants to come with us anymore. So lucky this is our 'local'.

Gem of a site!

We have used this site a few times now.Excellent location for visiting family nearby and so close to the beautiful Cheshire countryside and places to visit. The site and facilities are always really well kept and Andrea, the owner,is very accommodating. The added bonus of an ‘on site vehicle museum’ keeps hubby entertained every time.Love it here.We will continue to return.

Good facilities

More than one field, so somewhat confusing. Turned out that the first small field is the CL, which has all the power points, etc, and then there is a further field for caravans, and then another larger field which, I gather, is sometimes used for events. Showers spotless, and perfect for our needs. Did not see the owners, but honesty box available.

Lovely little site, kind & helpful owner

We booked to stay for a couple of nights to visit friends on our way back from the lakes. Unfortunately my husband needed treatment to his eyes whilst we were in Cheshire so we couldn’t leave as planned. Andrea was so helpful letting us leave the caravan on the pitch for longer than booked, then moving & storing it until we were able to leave. It's a lovely site, so peaceful with excellent, clean facilities in a great location. We hope to come back again for a proper visit.

Good CL - Good location

This is a great little CL with excellent level concrete hardstanding pitches. As with other reviews they are a little close together if you have an awning but we had no problem in pitching our large twin axle van at all. The shower block is a great addition but unfortunately does need a little 'TLC' however they are perfectly useable and no worse than some Club Site showers. They are supposed to be for the exclusive use of the CL but during the week we stayed (end July) they were being abused by some people on the adjacent rally field. Although we did not see the owners during our stay all the information we could possibly require was right at hand and all contact numbers are listed. The owners live on site if needed. There is a wonderful dog walk laid out although we were limited in use by the dreadful weather during our stay. My husband found the collection of old vehicles around the site fascinating and he would have loved to chat to the owner about them - thankfully this did not happen otherwise we would never have got out anywhere!
