An exceptional, well thought out, beautifully kept site

We visited Swallows View for 3 days on 3rd August 2020. I rarely do a review but so much thought and effort have been put into this site that it had to be done. The owners were so friendly and welcoming but the care and thought put into the site is exceptional. Water taps at each pitch, beautiful mown grass on some special amazing ground netting so all weather pitches and lovely sized pitches. I’m just about to prepare their lovely cooking apples to go with the blackberries we picked. We will be back. Carol and Keith. Clevedon

Campervan Visit September 2019

An exemplary CL or as one might say, small but perfectly formed! An extremely friendly welcome with helpful local information from the owners who kept a careful but not intrusive watch on the site. Well drained grass pitches which were reasonably level although we did use levellers. Several water taps around site and standard EHU points. Well stocked shop in village. Good cycling and walking in the area with many nature reserves. We hope to return for more birdwatching at a different time of year to this excellent peaceful site.

Total relaxation on this quiet and well presented site.

We couldn't have been happier with this site, the owners made us feel very welcome with a constant supply of fresh eggs from their chickens. The pitch sizes are generous and very well maintained with a tap and electricity to every pitch. Trips out were easy being so central to many wonderful places. We will definitely be returning and have no hesitation in recommending this site.

Well located. Well looked after

A small cl in a very quiet location. Quietness and darkness are its strong features. The field is enclosed on three sides by mature hedges and the entrance has the owners new build house at the other. Entry to the field is easy and after a torrential storm the water just drained away quickly. The field is level, well looked after with plenty of space between pitches and was close mown on our visit. There are ehu’s and water points at various locations. Pitch No 1 however is on a bit of a slope but it has the advantage of having electric and water. Waste water at the other pitches can be disposed of in the hedge. The owners, caravanners themselves, have worked hard over the years to maintain the cl to a good standard and have had 30+ five star reviews. However these were lost by the club under the re brand and website upgrade and apparently can’t be retrieved. This is such a sad occurrence when now the owners have to start building a picture of their cl all over again through more reviews. So I will give it 5 stars We stayed here for three nights, second week of June, on our way to Devon. It is a few miles off the M5 so may not be ideal for an overnight stop but it is certainly good for much longer. It is fairly central of all parts of Somerset. Locally, there is no pub in the village but there are two at either side in adjoining villages. The local shop has a bit of everything but is mainly a Coop mini market, quite impressive for an out of the way location. The village is on the edge of the Somerset Levels and in a short distance there is the Avalon Marshes Nature reserve with small visitor centre and coffee shop. Across the road is the large Shapwich Heath Reserve with lots of wildlife. The surrounding area is almost flat and good for those with bikes. There is an added advantage to come when the owner’s new house is complete and that is there will be two self catering rooms to hire. So no doubt that will be good for anyone who wishes to take relatives. All in all a cl we enjoyed very much and would have no hesitation in visiting again when in the area.

Cycling on the levels

The site was simple but had electricity and water on each pitch. The owners were friendly and gave us local information which was useful as we didn't know the area. We intended to cycle and Karl suggested we go into Glastonbury via the nature reserve which had a cycle track . We started by visiting Avalon marshes centre where we picked up some cycle route maps and found out some more about the area. We enjoyed our time at Swallow View and cycling in the Somerset Levels ( as relatively new cyclists it was great as it was level )!! We will return ! Eddie and Gerry

Small but lovely

We stayed here a few weeks ago. It was easy to access with no narrow lanes to negotiate. It's not a large field but has a sort of cosy feel to it. There's a ne house in the process of being built at the entrance. No bother to us. There's a friendly cat who also gave us a warm welcome. There are some free range chickens at the back of the field so lovely fresh eggs are available. There's a shop in the village for essentials and large supermarkets not far away. We would highly recommend this site.

Peace and tranquillity

We stayed at this CL, Swallows View in Edington, Somerset on Mar 26th 2018. Right from the outset we were made to f very welcome, lovely rural CL with spacious pitches. All services were functional, clean and working well. We enjoyed good satellite TV signal, we even had our own Robin above our van singing, heralding our arrival. This CL is a little gem and would recommend it if you like open country side with far reaching views, peace and tranquillity (as well as fabulous freshly laid eggs). We shell return, LOU and TERRI

Fabulous little gem

Gem of site in the middle of the Somerset levels. The site is well kept, level and sheltered; each pitch has its own water supply. Lovely pub a mile down the road and a well stocked shop a mile up the road. Great for cycling, walking and bird watching. Fresh free range eggs available on site. Owners are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Been here twice already this summer and will definitely be visiting again.

Favorite CL

We have stayed on this site many times over the last 5 years usually 2weeks at a time, we have even spent a couple of Christmases here. We are keen bird watchers so are spoilt for choice with so many nature reserves near by. The site is well kept and level with water and electric close to all pitches. Liz and Karl are very friendly and welcoming, always willing to help if needed. The free range eggs are a must. Not many quality CLs for £10.00 per night anymore.
