Thank you to a 2024th century Good Samaritan!

Descriptions of the site have already been written. I went to spend a few quiet relaxing days with the dogs not far from home - Oakham. The combined CL and tourer sites offer plenty of opportunities for quiet strolls for the dogs comfort breaks! The whole area is kept mown and tidy as are the paths through the adjacent George Henry Wood - a Woodland Trust plantation. A footpath near the office area leads, through the wood, to Stretton Village and the Jackson Stopps pub: half a country m!ile away! The Wheatsheaf pub in Greetham combines a "local" with a very good restaurant run by a husband and wife team. Booking, especially for Sunday lunch, is strongly advised. If you intend going for a meal at anytime telephone ahead! My late wife and I ate there often - mother's day off! The other pub in Greetham, the Plough, is also worth a look - more of a locals pub which also serves pleasant meals but check on times. Now, why the good Samaritan? When I arrived and started to unhitch, the jockey wheel clamping handle/screw sheared off and I was unable to move my van. A fellow camper rallied the troops and between us we managed to manoeuvre the van into place! I later went to the office to ask if they knew of a mobile caravan repair firm nearby. Yes, we do repairs and maintenance - wow!! Roland came up later to see the problem and I was assured he could fix it to get me home. He did. With the aid of a welding torch he fashioned a serviceable handle from a long bolt with the right thread - not pretty but it worked and it did, indeed, get me home. The cost? No, that's alright glad to be able to help. My GOOD SAMARITAN. I shall be ever in your debt Roland.
