Really lovely site with the warmest of welcomes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stoke Hall Farm. The genuine kindness shown by Len and Sue is heart warming. The goose egg brought to us on our first morning, swiftly followed by two bottles to feed the lambs could not have set off our stay more perfectly! We had planned on lots of long walks and pub lunches with our dog as we always do but unforeseen health problems meant that I had to really put my feet up and have short walks (down to the lambing shed!!!) Len and Sue were so lovely in letting us spend as long with our new found four legged friends as we wanted to but I was instructed that the caravan would be checked for stowaways as we left!!! The site itself is really lovely next to the church and the views all round are beautiful. There are lots of walks to be done and 3 good pubs within easy walking distance, which hopefully next time we will sample! We stayed over Easter weekend and had quite a lot of wind and a few torrential downpours, as we felt like we were home from home we were happy just to do nothing for the most part. We left a day early due to the forecast of severe wind on Bank holiday Monday, my husband really didn't fancy towing in it and I'm glad he didn't! When we told Len we were going to leave that evening he offered for us to stay that night and pick the caravan up a few days later so we didn't have to tow as we only live an hour away. A really lovely gesture and if we hadn't of got most of our things packed away we would have taken him up on it. Don't hesitate to book, it's a flat site with plenty of space, just don't book too much so we can't get in!!!! Many thanks for a great stay, Claire and Nick Read and Jasper the black lab! Woof!
