Starney Bay Caravan Site

Quite expensive at £25 but a very well laid out site with ehu, waste and tap at each pitch, but motorhomers beware, no waste disposal point for you! The surface is a fine black substance which sticks exceptionally well to your shoes, hence lots of dirt in the caravan. We felt that without screening from the road and adjacent footpath we were always on view, didn’t feel like sitting out for our G&T! Persons parking for the small shops at the farm seemed to find standing at the gate and peering in quite fascinating, not for us. If this would not bother you then the site is perfect as the location is fabulous with only a 5 minute walk into St.Abbs. Ali was very welcoming and informative.
5 minutes
Peace & quiet
Had a wonderful 4 days here with our demountable camper, fine weather added to this of course.
Local area is very scenic with good walking and cafes for refreshments…..easy 10 minute walk to Coldingham bay beach,5 mins to 2 cafes in St Abbs.
Facilities at site were spotless, pitches level and roomy….we'll definitely return when in need of a weekend of peace & quiet.
Wonderful Location
We stayed for 3 nights at Starney Bay, but wished it could have been more. Site is easy to access at then take your pick of pitch. All are fully serviced and excellent. The hardcore suface is covered in fine gravel and gives the site a very smart appearance. Getting awning pins in is hard work, so if you are planning on putting up an awning make sure you have decent rock pins. Next to the site is a cafe, an art gallery and toilets which were open when we were there in early May 21
Just 600m down the road is St Abbs with a couple of lovely cafes, especially Ebbcarrs right by the quay. There is also a small shop and post office for basic supplies and newspapers.
Walks from the site are fantastic along coastal cliff paths south to Eyemouth where there are a couple of pubs and restaurants. North along the coast is less populated and much more challenging with some steep climbs. However, the views are worth it.
Ali was very friendly and chatty and gave us some tips on where to walk.
A wonderful few nights at a very neat and well kept site!
Lovely Peaceful Site!
Stayed here for 2 nights for the 1st time and loved it! So peaceful with lovely surrounding views and very clean and tidy. Serviced pitches are excellent and make all the difference.
Nice walks direct from the site and Coldingham Bay Beach is only a few mins away by car, as well as St Abbs Harbour a few mins in the opposite direction.
Would definitely recommend and hopefully we’ll be back soon 😛

Great new site in an awesome locution
Stayed here for a few days in November, just before lockdown 2. Really well organised and tidy new site. It still looked fresh, and will be even better when everything is fully grown in, which won't be long.
Friendly and helpful welcome, EHU, light, water and grey water disposal on each pitch, which is brilliant! Clean and tidy chemical loo disposal, rubbish and recycling area.
Right next to St Abbs visitor centre and coastal paths. Easy walk into St Abbs, with great cafes, and not far to walk on the Coldingham Bay, beach and Coldingham village.
The only tiny issues were the fine gravel surface, which looks great, but sticks a bit too wet shoes (not really a problem, just needs a bit of care to keep it outside) and the very bright light at the chemical loo disposal area, which is on all night. Great to have the light, but it is a bit too bright.
Neither of these things should put you off, top CL in a lovely place, and we will be back, soon as we're allowed....

Lovely new site
This is a lovely new site with hard standing pitches, all fully serviced with EHU, water feed and grey waste disposal point. Unfortunately I don’t have a hose for waste so used a bucket to empty grey water! Ground around pitches has been newly seeded for grass so should be lovely next year. Well situated for coastal walks, St Abbs and Coldingham and has added bonus of cafe and art/craft gallery on site.
Lovely place
We stayed here for 2 nights when the site had only been open 2 weeks. The grass is yet to grow and hopefully the pitch surface will settle down - at the moment a lot of the loose chippings ended up in our van! Beautiful walks to St. Abbs Head and the lighthouse from the site, also easy to walk into the village with its picturesque harbour and a couple of nice cafes. Next door is a cafe, art gallery and public loos. The pitch we were on sloped a lot so we needed levelling blocks. Each pitch has its own hook up point, tap and waste disposal but unfortunately no drive over waste water facility. Seemed very expensive - we would not normally pay £25 per night but we had struggled to find places with availability.

Motorhomer - Excellent facilities, beautiful spot
We had just a one night stay here and grateful to arrive early in the day to walk out to St Abbs head. Brand new site with Electric, water and water disposal at each pitch. Excellent waste disposal and recycling.
We had freak North winds when we stayed but think it would be glorious to sit out here. Plus benches overlooking the sea a very short walk. Perfect venue for walking and cycling from.
It's new so grass yet to grow but the hard standing great. Would definitely come again.
