Good location

Ideal location for the Ingleton falls trail and Ingleborough mountain. Not too busy when we were there but shared use of the facilities with the adjoining campsite meant the showers were rather busy. Great little pub down the lane. Nice quiet site with large pitches and fairly easy access.

Perfect

This was our first trip in our caravan and we were truly spoilt staying at Stackstead. The site and set up is a credit to Mr Mrs Moorhouse. Can’t wait to get back

Lovely peaceful site

We're not long back from 3 nights at this CL which we thoroughly enjoyed. To begin with I thought it might be a little noisy because of the adjoining caravan & camp site and because it's not that far off the A65 but it was very peaceful, especially at night which is always welcome. We had a lovely pitch in an upper corner with a nice spread of grass to relax just outside the awning door. Pitches are nicely spaced out so we didn't find privacy an issue. That said, there are two pitches that are a little like lay-bys which we wouldn't have fancied as they offered less privacy than we'd like - not an issue for everyone I know. Lovely warm welcome and all well organised as things have to be in the current circumstances - having a shower/toilet block is something of a bonus, especially the latter! We had family staying in the camping pods on the campsite which all worked out well - some of them booked a slot in the leisure pool/sauna and we very impressed by the quality of the facilities offered. All in all, a lovely site in a wonderful area so we will be returning!

Lovely getaway

We stayed here for a couple of nights between Christmas and New Year and were very impressed! Lovely little CL set out in a very nice way. Although I would imagine that larger units might find it a little too small, for us it was great. The toilet block was warm, clean and tidy (it is shared with the main site, so not sure how busy it would be in the summer). We went for a swim, Jacuzzi & sauna in the little leisure centre, which was lovely. It's £5 entry, which we thought was OK. We went for a walk on the Waterfalls Trail in Ingleton, which was very pretty and a good walk. We were surprised we had to pay to walk the trail though, and thought £7 each was too much. Next time we'll do a different walk! We will definitely put this site on our list to return to again.

A peaceful site close to singleton and the Falks

We stayed at this site, in our motorhome, for three nights at the beginning of June. Access was easy although the drive down from Tannerhouse Lane is a bit narrow, and our van is wide! Great welcome when we arrived. The pitches are all hardstanding and level in a quiet area behind the 'farm' house. Toilet/shower block is clean and tidy; not sure why they ask for 50p per shower when we were already paying £15 per night for pitch including EHU. The site is just over a mile from the village centre, and a further quarter mile from the Waterfalls Trail. The walk to, around, and back from the trail is just over seven miles; the trail itself is four and a half miles, with over 1000 steps up and down,; took us 4 hours including photo and lunch stops. So quite strenuous but well worth the visit, especially after rainfall. We had a meal at the nearest pub, the Masons Freehouse (at the end of the lane), which was good and reasonably priced. Other pubs in the village if you want to go that far. All in all a great place, well recommended.

Good for ramblers

This is an excellent CL for ramblers, close to the beginning of a number of walks. The CL also has a drying room for wet coats and boots and there are washing facilities if needed. We stayed over a fairly miserable weather weekend and found the drying room to be very useful. The welcome to the site was very friendly and informative. Shower, toilets and washing up facilities are basic but very clean. The downside of the CL is that the lay-by pitches (one in particular) mean that you are pretty much pitched up at the side of a road and we had a couple of hairy moments as cars squeezed past us. There is ample room to site a couple of proper pitches off the road and so I'm unsure why this lay-by arrangement is in place. The shower does not have any heating and as it was cold when we were there, we didn't use it. Finally, the extraction/boiler noise from the leisure centre can be a bit annoying. I can imagine more so in the summer if you were planning to sit outside. On balance though this is a really good CL and the fact that it was full during a January weekend probably speaks for itself.

Peaceful, tidy and friendly

Narrow entrance and lane, but as long as bushes etc are trimmed then no problem. Facilities are shared with main site but even in July there was no problem with queuing, straight in for the 50p honesty box shower with ample hot water. Dish washing area also had ample hot water and although the block is slightly dated it was clean and kept tidy. We were lucky to have probably the best pitch of the Cl, with ample room for the canopy and car, awnings are charged for but canopy's are free. Others in the 'layby' pitches parked their cars in the car park as room was really tight. Wife was walking the Pennine Bridleway and this was an ideal spot for that, plus there is dog walking direct from the site. The 'Maissons' is within walking distance (half mile) and the food there was quickly served, hot and filling, during the summer it is open 7 days a week. Did not use the gym, sauna or pool as I thought it expensive. £5 for entrance but as soon as you left even on the same day it would be another £5 to re-enter, I thought as resident campers maybe £5 should have been the daily charge. On the whole a good, quiet, and well kept CL.

Beautiful Views

Lovely location, surrounded by beautiful countryside, very tight getting into the drive, especially if someone decides to park a few yards from the end of the drive. Pitches are small, why?? There is no heating in the facilities block which is adequate in low season, it costs 50p for a shower (honesty box) there is a commercial site adjacent which shares the facilities and I’d imagine in the season it would be very busy, maybe a lot of queuing with one shower and 2 toilets on the ladies side. Made welcome by the owners and WiFi is free. We went to the nearest pub to get an evening meal, closed until February, next pub, not serving food, next pub, they’d stopped serving food but reopened the kitchen to feed us, thanks again to The 3 Horseshoes pub, warm welcome, place was immaculate, great choice of beers, wines and whisky, huge portions, we had steak pie, came with lots of chips and 3 veg, which was delicious. Couldn’t manage dessert. It’s not easy walking into Ingleton which we did a couple of times, lots of very narrow or non existent paths, the road to the first pub no path at all, bit hairy especially with 2 dogs. Not ideal for motorhomers who want to park up and walk everywhere.

Lovely CL Site

Have just returned from a lovely weekend on this site and can not rate it enough. The pitches and areas are immaculate with lovely trees and shrubs, the lawned area is also well looked after. Facilities on the site are excellent and lovely and clean. The scenery and walks nearby are also amazing with long and short walks available. Will definitely be going back to this site in the very near future and look forward to seeing the owners who are very nice and helpful.
