Ease of arrival/welcome

Extremely well maintained CL with extensive views

CL is large sloping paddock. Easy access from the main road leads to gravel road into CL. Wide entrance so no access problems even for the largest outfits. Two level hardstandings and three sloping grass pitches. Slope is not too steep: vans can pitch across the slope with a ramp. We had an awning and didn’t have a problem. CL has a stock of wooden blocks for legs. Pitches well spaced. CL extremely well maintained: even the livestock fences are painted. Water/waste is at top of slope near entrance. Both toilet and grey waste at floor level so can use WasteMaster. Views on three sides with large hedge shielding from the road on the fourth side. We didn’t notice traffic. Distant views of the Cheviots 20 miles away. View = windy. Had some rain yet ground remained firm. Excellent CL. Made very welcome by Pam who when found out we were walking the Southern Upland Way offered us maps and guides of other local walks and cycle routes. We’d always chose this over the Club site in Melrose. We’re planning to return next year.
