What a gem!

Don't belittle the cup of coffee or tea you are offered as soon as you arrive: very welcome after many hours in the car :) Amy and Ian are very helpful and friendly hosts. This is a wonderful, adult-only site, where dogs are in heaven. The field is very large, and the level pitches easily twice as big as usual, all with EHU. It is for self-contained caravans and motorhomes only, and the facilities are simple but well cared for. There are even poobags, should you unexpectedly run out. The site is central to many places you might want to visit in the vicinity. For our elderly dogs, a few times around the field a couple of days was enough, as we went off site by car for visiting family and finding walks. As our son and family live half an hour from here, this will be our go-to site in future when visiting them.

Feeling Chilled in Somerset

New owners at this lovely CL in Somerset. Amy and Ian are very friendly and welcoming. At £15 a night for pitch, water and waste and £20 a night adding ehu be sure to book early as there are just five pitches available, three of which are hardstanding. Water and Elsan point easy to access. A very short walk to Parsons cider farm and bus stops directly outside the site to Taunton and beyond.

Great place to stay

A gem of a site. Amy welcomed us with tea and biscuits. The site is beautifully kept and everything very neat and tidy. , the information board was very good. The site is in an excellent location for getting out and about. Lots of places within reach. Recommend Coates Willow, Barrington Hall, Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Gorge., Tyne Court. The cider from just down the road was good and the nearby farm milk vending machine added bonus.

Glad to be back

We have been coming to this CL for years now and really missed it when it was closed last year due to changing owners. We where a little apprehensive coming this year with the new owners, but wow!! Still a lovely CL and the new touches that Amy has made make it even better. We use it as a stop off on our way to Cornwall and to visit friends staying 3 nights this time and 2 on our way back in July, but its worth visiting in its own right with plenty to see & do in the area. Thank you Amy for keeping this lovely CL going, fully recommend it here.

Nice one.

Having just spent 5 days at Southfield there is nothing to say except wow. From the initial contact with Amy, through to the welcome cup of coffee and greeting, this is a CL that deserves to succeed. The attention to detail, even down to weeding the hard standings by hand, is a bench mark for other CL’s to take note. We will return.

Fantastic site. Ideal for exploring the area

What a fabulous site this is, quiet, peaceful, well maintained, level H/S pitches, EHU & water on the pitch and wonderful friendly owners Roz & Nick who are available to help out whenever needed. This is an ideal place to stay if you want to explore the area. There is Parsons Cider Production just a 2 minute walk from the site where you can pick up some very good and reasonably priced cider and the bus into Taunton Town Centre stops directly outside the site. We jumped the short journey on the bus into the Centre and visited the Museum of Somerset which is a 1 min walk from the bus stop and we highly recommend. Lots of things to see, it's free but donations gratefully accepted. The Cafe is also excellent and very reasonably priced. There is also a large Sainsbury's in the centre with a big car park. We will hopefully get to stay at Southfield again but will stay a few more days next time.

Well Kept Site

Our third visit to this CL. Stayed here in our Motorhome for four nights in June this year in order to catch up with family and friends. Warm welcome from Nick with a welcome cup of coffee. The site is well kept, with grass mown and clippings picked up. There is some road noise, but as we live next to an ‘A’ road, it didn’t bother us. We believe the site is on a bus route but not sure how often the buses run. Close to lots of interesting places.
