This site has beautiful open countryside views with a peaceful relaxing ambience. We booked with Mrs Marris by telephone and then communicated via email to ask further questions. There are no set times for arrival or departure as the site is large enough to accommodate any potential overlapping of arrival times. We saw a roe deer stood in the middle of the site at 9am in the morning. There are lovely walks direct from the site for any lucky dogs staying there. This is a wildlife haven for watching all the birds. We also saw a buzzard take off over the car as we drove in. The site is very well maintained and the owners leave you to your own devices. It also has direct links to all the main roads within the Lincoln area. Access is via a single track road to the farm with a passing place should it be needed. There is no road noise as the site is located down the farm track well away from the main road. We will definitely be going back even though this CL is only ten miles from home!Â
Super site
Everything has already been said! Good flat field, lots of space, good viewing of aircraft including Red Arrows based at nearby Scampton where you can visit the museum (pre-arranged only). Easy access to Lincoln by car.Didn't find any local shops so used Tesco in Lincoln. The CL was very busy when we visited early in July for the Waddington airshow! Can't comment on the owners as we actually only met them when we were leaving!
Wish it was closer
The owners are very friendly and the site well looked after, Its on a working farm but its really quiet. Loads of room, grass very well kept in fact I cannot find anything wrong with this place. There is a really nice dog walk which the owners cut the grass to make it nicer. We took the bus into Lincoln which was no problem, and all the info you need is in a shed. It is next to the Red Arrows Airfield but it was an added bonus to have them do their displays right over the caravan, (no flying at night). We will return to this c.l., only wish it was closer so we could use it for long week-ends
We'll be back!!!!
We have been here about a dozen times at all times of the year sometimes for the Antiques Fair and sometimes to visit beautiful Lincoln.
The owners are very friendly and the site well looked after ,Its on a working farm but its really quiet. There is a superb fishing lake on site about 3/4 mile away full of large fish ( the bailiff is really friendly too)
We have a motorhome and you can either catch the bus at the end of the lane or drive into Lincoln and park in the Lawns car park.
As the title states 'We'll be back' !!!!!!!
So quiet
First time to this site, but it will not be our last! Loads of room, grass very well kept in fact I cannot find anything wrong with this place. There is a really nice dog walk. The farm was really quiet. We had a very peaceful night. Hope the next time we visit the weather is warmer so we can sit outside the van and take in this nice place.
Lovely Place
We have been going to this lovely spot for at least 10 years, always a warm welcome , peaceful, good for nipping into Lincoln and great surroundings - Andy & Deb K
Excellent
We regularly stay on this site as our eldest daughter lives in Lincoln. The site is kept immaculately with short grass. Easy access in Lincoln voia car - not sure about the buses though. Lincoln has lots to keep anyone busy and the site backs onto the Showground. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus.
PEACEFUL GEM
Wonderful, level, peaceful CL with lots of room and spaces between pitches and were marked out on the huge lawn which is kept very short. Very well organised with recycling bins etc and thought the well stocked information hut was a thoughtful addition. For dog owners, there is a very good walk marked out which goes through the woodland behind. Would recommend and will definately return.
Good location for visiting Lincoln
A quite, large, open lawned site with two hard standings. Well organised water/waste and recycling point. Information hut. EHUs on main farm barn and another cluster beside road. Two wooden chalets for hire also. Three miles into Lincoln on busy road but buses are infrequent. Near to the Lincolnshire Showground and Scampton Airfield. No pubs, shops within walking/cycling distance. We took bikes down to a pub/marina on the river and used the cycleway into the City.
