Our first fully serviced CL

Very easy to book and a great site for easy access. Lovely welcome from Nicola, who also helped us with our awning when the weather suddenly changed. Thank you, definitely above and beyond as we all got wet through... Very well positioned for access to Lincoln, Newark and the Wolds, plus the RAF museums. This is the smallest CL we have stayed on and we did feel overlooked by our neighbours. It’s a little too cosy; we like CL’s as most have lots of space between vans. That said, the site is extremely well laid out, if snug. But, and for us it’s a massive but and deal breaker, there is constant, and I mean 24/7, traffic noise from the A46. It would have been lovely to hear birdsong, but traffic noise drowned everything else. We love the tranquility of rural CL’s, sadly this well set up site is anything but tranquil.

Lovely peaceful stay

Really enjoyed our stay as did the dogs. Friendly and informative welcome and true to advice given we spotted two deer within minutes of setting off on a walk around the waymarked paths within the farm. We will definitely return here again. Thank you.

Comparable with a main CC site

Firstly the site was easy to book online (unusual for a CL). We were met with a cheery welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. The site is really secure. Our daughter visited us unannounced whilst we were out and was picked up on CCTV. We were told that an uninvited person had been looking around our caravan! The Wi-Fi is free and brilliant. The mown paths around the farm were really appreciated by us and our dog...they just go on and on...miles of them. The pubs at Bassingham especially were dog friendly and welcoming with good food and beer. Not sure about the Royal Oak at Aubourn which is now NOT dog friendly and has a new grumpy landlord. The site is brilliant and easily compares with some of the main 'super pitch' CC sites for quality and service. We would go again.

We'd prefer this CL to be a secret, so we can go more often!

An excellent site, well positioned, easily accessible and with 5-star CL facilities. Our short trip will be repeated, without a doubt. This site is great value for money, with friendly owners. It is up there with our favourites.

Fantastic CL, perfect for Lincoln!

This CL is just off the A46 and easily accessible from both directions. Nicola, the site owner, is very hands on and full of useful info about the area. She maintains a really useful shed load (literally) of information and is very accommodating. The Lincoln cycle network is relatively close by which is perfect for cycling into Lincoln free of traffic.

Midweek break

This is a secure and well laid out site with all the facilities you need for a CL. A big advantage to be able to book on line and receive instant confirmation. Nicola and Richard were very friendly and always helpful when needed. The shed full of leaflets is the sites own "tourist information centre".

So wish we could have stayed for longer.

Before we even arrived we were impressed with how smoothly everything was arranged. We were sent an email two days beforehand with the security gate code and arrived on the day to have a choice of three pitches. All were level and fully serviced and the site was spotless. We could see for miles and loved spotting the many aircraft landing at Waddington around 7 miles away. We couldn't hear a sound though other than the birds. Sky Barn is ideally placed for many local attractions, but being dog owners we were on the hunt for interesting walks. The little info shed provided an abundance of pamphlets showing a variety of walks that were truly top notch. We particularly enjoyed Whisby Nature Reserve where there is a beach specifically set aside for our four legged friends to have a swim. The pub at Swanholme provided clear lake water too. However Sky Barn itself has a lovely walk round the edge of their fields and we saw many hares on every walk. Nicola popped by on the first day to say hello and to make sure all was well. Richard and Nicola run a 5 star CL and there is really nothing that we could add to make our stay any better than it was. There is even free wifi that was incredibly fast. This was our first trip to a CL and I think our days at staying at large sites is in the past. Sky Barn has converted us and we can't thank Nicola and Richard enough. Apologies to them both for the disruption on our last night when our takeaway arrived early whilst we were at the far end of their fields, but that too was great Nicola.

A GEM IN LINCOLNSHIRE.

Just had 1 weeks stay on this lovely site. When we arrived we thought we were on a proper club site not a C.L. The pitches were well laid out with plenty of room and the bonus of having water/waste/electricity to each pitch. Just like a caravan club super pitch. Another bonus was the good WI-FI connection. The site is in an access place for most places of interest in the area around Lincoln. Well done Nicola &Richard and thank you for a nice stay.

5 Star Skybarn Farm

Well what a pleasure it was to stay here at Skybarn Farm this Bank holiday weekend. Nice peaceful site with lovely dog walking areas around the farmland. Fully serviced pitches on level hardstandings. 10/10 for this site and such lovely owners too. There's a nice pub just 1.7 miles away The Royal Oak which serves really good food and a great pint. We will definitely be returning here in the future. Thanks Nicola for a great weekend.
