We had just a four day visit in October, and only got in because they had a cancellation. Most people on the site seem to have been going for years. This site is in a perfect place for exploring the Lake District and is beautifully located. It is just of the main Keswick – Ambleside road but we noticed very little road noise. The access to the site was straightforward and there is plenty of space for turning/manoeuvring. Site facilities were straightforward and the owners were pleasant. The best feature of the site is that there are footpaths from the site into the woodlands that go up to the fell behind and on down to Thirlmere. This makes it the perfect spot for staying with dogs, its like having your own dog walk. The only down side to this site is that it isn’t a “normal” CL but has seven pitches, making it busier than we would like. If you get a choice the best pitches are at the top of the site as they have more space and better views. Would we go back? – yes.
