Home on the range.

We stopped here for three nights at the beginning of September this year, using it as a base to visit relatives. The site is easy to find although the final approach lane is a little rough but bear in mind that this is a working centre. The reception was our first point of contact and we were cheerfully introduced to the site by a member of staff who also tends the tack shop. There are some hard standing pitches in the first of two available paddocks enclosed be trees and an open grass paddock beyond, each pitch having an electric point. Despite being within the stables complex, the facilities block was spotless. We opted for a grass pitch and were delighted with open views across paddocks that were occupied by the horses and alive with rabbits in the early morning. this is definitely a site to sit and just chill out. we will certainly be back but next time stay for longer.

Break with friends

Arrived in a terrible rain storm but managed to set up ok as grass drained ok. Rained heavy next 2 nights but by morning ground was firm to drive car off and walk to toilet block with no problems.  Toilet is very clean, shower is very powerful and hot so no complaints there. Lock on toilet is coded and broke over weekend but owners got it fixed first thing Monday, great service.  Nice views over fields where horses graze and exercise, staff in tack shop on other side of centre were very friendly and helpful.  Went for some nice walks round some nearby public footpaths. Convenient for Southend and Battlesbridge, would definitely return. If coming in the wetter months, wellies are a must, a little gem overall

Lovely site

We stayed mid May at short notice, for a conference in Southend, and were worried by a previous negative review, a booking and review which it turned out the owner had no knowledge of, she had been away on the dates mentioned apparently. Could not have been more helpful for us, placed reserved sign on the hardstanding pitch as we have a large motorhome and had asked for that spot. Facilities not new but all working and clean, based at a busy stable yard business so lots going on near loos etc. but pitches were far enough away from the yard for complete tranquility. We will visit again if we are in the area.

lovely CL

We stayed here for 5 nights, the CL was lovely, very spacious and well maintained with views over the countryside. We turned our caravan round to face the fields and we were very private, enjoyed watching the Easy Jet planes taking off and landing at near by Southend airport (no noise problem). Our only gripe and the reason we will not return is the disgusting state of the approach road, this is full of LARGE potholes and should be filled in before there is serious damage done to a caravan or car. Apart from that we had a lovely stay.

NO SPACE - NO MANAGEMENT

We booked this site a week earlier. Upon arrival at about 8.00pm we found that there were no pitches available, specifically the semi-hardstanding we had booked. After travelling a distance we were left with no alternative but to return home. There is no point of contact on site or management after 5.00pm to deal with these problems. Would not recommend this site.
