Excellent

Very peaceful and restful 5 nights spent on this site in August 2020, 1st time out this year. Friendly welcome on arrival from Mr. Coxon. Good 16 Amp EHU so boss lady had no problems with hairdryer. Field well kept, grass cut neat and tidy, slightly undulating but ramps soon sorted that. Only 1 issue, (and in no way do I criticise site owners with this comment), which was a dog owner not keeping their dog under control, the dog came running toward me, jumping up, thing was when dog owner eventually came out of their caravan to see what fuss was about she didn't appear to be at all concerned, really good thing it didn't happen to my wife as she is petrified of dogs and would have been screaming. Dog owners please remember not everyone wants to play with your dog, if you don't wish to keep them on a lead at least please keep an eye on them so they are under your control. Having said that it really didn't spoil our stay and we would certainly return to this CL. Thank You for a well kept site in a beautiful part of the country.

really lovely site

This is a lovely, quiet site with wonderful views across the Northumberland hills. It's very spaciuis with grass that is kept is a good state. I agree with all that has been said about the site with the exception of the nit-picking comment about the waste disposal point being "a hole in the ground". It is a perfectly acceptable waste point - this is a CL, not a CAMC site! If you want a great site on a Northumbrian working farm - this is for you. We,ve just had 10 wonderful days here.

can't wait to go again

We came to this site as we had always wanted to visit the area and oh boy we we weren't disappointed absolutely loved the site and the chance to see such a beautiful coast line.Bamburgh ,Warkworth Alnwick and Lindisfarne in fact we were all castled out !!! The beaches were amazing all along the coast .Stopped at Alnmouth and Amble where there is the best seafood restaurant called the old beachhouse so good we went twice,of course had fish n chips at Seahouses the neptune, the one place we couldn't get inn was the treehouse at Alnwick castle gardens .Needless to say we are both on diets now.The site has plenty of space with no traffic noise and is well kept. The direction we used (google earth road ) got off at denwick straight over from the slip road to Eglingham just past the old stables tea room roundabout follow b6341 berwick past a plant hobberlaw plants on left 100 yds turn left into smiley lane only a short distance turn right at end on to b6346 go past riding stables on right a short distance turn at sign Shipley Small burn .hope you have a good a hols as we did

Fantastic views but don't follow the directions!

Spent 11 nights here in October and the views are fantastic. However, the directions to the site bring you through the centre of Alnwick and through the Hotspur Tower, which is probably not a good idea when towing a full size caravan. Luckily, I always check the routes to a site on Google maps, so found an alternative. When we told Mike about it, he said that the Club wrote the directions and, despite him informing them a couple of times, they have failed to correct it. There was peace and quiet most of the time, but if Mike went out without his sheepdogs, they spent a lot of the time barking, not ideal! The toilet disposal is into a pipe in the ground not much bigger than the tube on the toilet, so you had to be very careful to make sure you got it into the pipe every time, it could be with being improved! Other than those niggles, our stay was good, there are a lot of walks, but some are overgrown or through fields full of animals, so care is needed.

Very Good CL

Stayed a few nights in August and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Busy working farmer but always available on mobile. Some sloping sites on left of field on entering but easily rectified with blocks if necessary. Good water supply and waste disposal and plenty of hook-ups. Pleasant walking mostly on narrow lane from site - some footpaths but not used in places and overgrown or through fields with cows and calves. Would be happy to stay again.

Great CL in Beautiful Spot

Lovely view all around this well kept site, quiet except for birds and lambs in the next field, which was great for us.   Wonderful fresh eggs from the farm.  Lots of wildlife.  Drove to Seahouses to get boat to Farne Islands and saw the Puffins and Seals, excellent day.  Berwick on Tweed is lovely, walked around the Bastions, good views.  Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights stay in May.

One of our favourites!!!

We have just returned from a 4week stay on this CL and will be returning next year. Easy to find with good access for our t/a .beautiful views and lots of lambs cavorting in the fields. So many places to see from coast to forest. Mike supplied us with very tasty eggs. Mike is not intrusive but is available for help or advice. He keeps the grass mowed and no cuttings left to make a mess. The field is spacious and fairly level. A very reasonable £13 per night with electric. Look out WE WILL BE BACK!!! Amble Sunday market in the harbour is well worth a visit,

Lovely site

Just returned from a week (10-17 April 2016) on this our first CL.  We were the only ones on site until the friday which was a treat for us and our 5 dogs. Looking out onto the sheep and their lambs was delightful.  Lovely dark sky at night too.  The weather was not too kind to us apart from our first and last days but the location is beautiful.  The level field was already quite wet and with more rain it became a challenge but a good awning carpet helped.  We got on and off with our RR with no problem but felt a bit guilty for leaving tyre marks.  Good water pressure and clean and compact waste area. We spotted a puncture on our twin axle van as we arrived and Mr Coxon could not have been more helpful - he gave us the number of a tyre co that came out and repaired it first day and he checked that we were OK. Beadlam and Bamburgh beaches excellent for the dogs. Recommend the Potted Lobster restaurant at Bamburgh and the Rock Art cafe at Rock Farm across the A1.  Access from the Denwick turn off the A1 is easy.  Sign on the entrance confirms £13/night incl awning.  We will return.

Lovely site in a special location

This site is easily accessed from the A1 but is far enough away not to have any road noise or disturbance. The night sky was wonderful and the views across the moorland are spectacular. The site itself is mainly level with loads of room for everyone and the owners are friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again. Thanks to Tracey and her family - best of luck with the horses!
