Basic off grid CL affording peace and tranquility
This CL is located on a reasonably large and generally flat meadow with wonderful distant views of the hills of South Wales. The Severn itself is about half a mile away, beyond an enormous flood embankment, and is obviously not visible from the site. The grass on the site had been mowed with a tractor and rotary mower and the hay had not been collected, adding to the wild camping feel of it. We carry a large rake for this purpose and we had no problem levelling our T/A van on it. There is a freshwater tap and a loo emptying point, as expected. No showers or toilets, just a field. We do need to try to be accurate with reviews and I suspect a previous reviewer was confusing this CL with another one somewhere else when he mentioned the well-looked-after showers. We shower in the van and wouldn't have been using site showers anyway. But others could be disappointed by that totally incorrect and misleading statement about the non-existent showers.
The owners are very friendly people and leave you alone during your stay. They were not seen by us at all until I went to them in order to pay. We enjoyed our three-day secluded and quiet stay and would certainly return if in the area.
