June 2014

Just spent 7 nights at this CL. Warm welcome from owners who showed us to our pitch. Very spacious, fairly level site. Toilet and shower clean and tidy although some may say needs updating. Just one word of warning although CL web site says when travelling from the east leave A55 at junction 35a it's marked up as 36 on junction sign (maybe highways dept having a laugh) Even my sat nav said we were at junction 35a. We would visit again when in area

Quiet and Peaceful..Feb 2014

The farm is down narrow lane about 1 mile with passing places. The field is very large with plenty of space between caravans, around the edge of the field at the moment lots and lots of daffodils. It is very quiet site and very dark on a night, a torch needed if going out on an evening. Levelling blocks are needed. There had been a lot of rain and the field did get quite muddy although it did say it was well drained. The toilet is basic but fine. The towel needed changing as it was quite wet and no loo paper, which was a shame. The toilet emptying area, was full to the brim and stinking, my plumber husband who is used to toilet waste was gagging! There were two permanent small touring caravans on site, one just off the field in the car park area the other on the site, I don't think this is a good idea, as it looks too permanent and untidy. There was also dog fouling about the site. This could be a good site if a bit more care and with some TLC.

Perfect site for Chester and North Wales

Lovely friendly, well kept site with plenty of space between pitches. Ideally located for Chester and North Wales. Broughton Shopping Park is a short distance away and Mold Market is worth visiting. Absolutely ideal location for a quiet break yet right on the doorstep of North Wales and Chester's tourist attractions.

North Wales at your doorstep

What a delightful location. Flat neatly trimmed pitch with plenty of space between pitches if you want it. A lovely warm welcome from the friendly owners, my son could not get enough of the farm and even helped feeding the lambs with Mrs Cannon. The A55 is just a short hop away ( but well out of earshot), giving access to the north wales coast and back to Manchester the other way. Chester is charming roman city with a perfect mix of history and modern retail requirements. The Local village of Higher Kinnerton has a simply devine public house The Royal Oak. Perfectly kept real ales and delicious food also served every evening and lunch times, a must in my book. In short, its great and i will be back.

An excellent CL by any standard

An excellent site that is hard to beat if you want peace and tranquility in a beautiful , working farm setting. We have been regular visitors there since 2010. Close to Chester, the Wirral and easy travelling to North Wales coast. Immediate area allows for easy walking, beautiful small village with very adequate services and two excellent pubs within walking distance of the site. Large, well kept flat field with plenty of space and choice of pitching. Owners are extremely welcoming but do not impose on you - they're there if you need them and are always helpful but no unnecessary "rules". Site and shower/toilet are kept immaculately clean and tidy. This is a working farm so you do need to appreciate that although you are quite separate from the farm. Access is excellent - with a wide, metalled road off Sandy Lane (Better to approach from the Lower Kinnerton, A55 end of Sandy Lane).
