Well maintained site in a lovely location

Change of CL owner 2021. New owner is maintaining the extremely high standards of the previous owner. Extremely well-maintained site (they have contractors to cut the grass – I’ve not seen that before on a CL). All pitches have their own grey water grid. There’s a choice of four pitches on the left side and two on another (they only ever had 5 occupied when we were there). There are water supplies between the pitches so not quite enough for one per pitch which means not everyone can connect directly if you’re sharing the tap with your neighbour, but it’s still much better than one shared tap for the whole CL. The first pitch on the left has a spectacular view. The view gets more restricted the further into the CL you go. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Great base to explore the Forest of Bowland. I’d last visited the area 50 years ago and one of our party 70 years ago. We’d forgotten how nice it is and will definitely come back to this area. The main problem with the CL is the pitches are all sloping which can be a challenge for motorhomes. There is a turning circle at the end of the CL which is useful for manoeuvring. Access is down a long narrow lane which starts with a reasonably tight turn over a narrow bridge. We’re used to getting to secluded sites so wasn’t a problem. Two of the vans on the CL were large double axle so despite the narrow lane this is accessible to large outfits. One of the reasons we had chosen this CL was to walk sections of the Lune Valley Ramble footpath which is adjacent to the CL and follows the River Lune. Unfortunately, a section to the north of the CL was so muddy (over a foot deep because of cattle making their way to the river and back) we got stuck in the mud and had to abandon it and a section a mile south of the CL was so overgrown we couldn’t get through it. We explored all the footpaths in the area and some others were also too overgrown. I guess these problems wouldn’t happen at other times of the year. This is no fault of the CL owners.
