Easter break 2023

Booked with Mr Butler by telephone. The site was easy to access, level pitches on a beautifully maintained site in a peaceful and tranquil setting. There is a arrivals board with the names of the people arriving that day and the pitch number allocated. The price was very very reasonable compared to other sites we have used. We were asked to pay on arrival. Easy access to Hornsea, Skipsea and Fraisthorpe beaches. There is a dog walk directly from the site, although a bit muddy at the moment!! We will definitely return.

Lovely cl site

Arrived today on this site and its a lovely place very friendly owners and a very peaceful site Got to be honest and say I couldn't believe the price at £14 per night including ehu as well as free WiFi on a hard standing pitch 😲 owner isn't trying to get rich quick with this one , it's nearer to Hornsea than Driffield and is a little gem for getting sited and then having a run out for the day sight seeing we might just make this our go to site for weekends etc , well done to Mr and Mrs Butler and family on a site worth visiting at any time of year , and good luck for the future 👍

Lovely site

This is a lovely, very well kept site. The grass is kept beautifully cut- and collected. Easy to find and on arrival, our name was on the Welcome Board, advising us which pitch to go to. Pitches are clearly marked, nicely spaced and level. We could pitch to suit ourselves/needs. Bins and disposal points easily accessed and kept pristine. There are directions to the owner's property to allow you to go and pay for your stay. There is a Nature Walk directly from the site. There is a little bit of road noise - but not much as it is not a major road. We didn't have any trouble with noise from a neighbouring property as referred to in other reviews. Very, very good value for money. It's not very far away from us, so I am certain we will return when we just want a little bolt hole break away.

Lovely site

Easy to find. Clear notice from owners ref pitch and where to pay (short walk down Road). Free WiFi but a good enough 4g signal anyway. 3 nice hard standing 2 grass. EHU easy to find. Pitches all look level level. Tap, bins, disposal points all visible and hand gel provided. A mile to pub and 4 to Hornsea, pennine trail not far and Burton Constable Hall a short drive and well worth a day trip. A very good value for a pristine site for £10. Only reason I've rated the view low is because whilst not unpleasant it is simply a view of the lovely manicured acre site and some trees.

Great Little CL

OK...its not San Tropez as in France but well worth a visit. An acre of level, lawned grass surrounded by tall trees with all the facilities in easy reach. Our name was on a 'Welcome board' and the pitch number which was a hard standing. Nothing in the village but only 2 or 3 miles into Hornsea. Two points to note from previous reviews - there was hardly any noise from the dogs in the bungalow and our Sat Nav (Garmin) took us straight there along the route recommended. Great CL, especially at £10 per night.

ok for £8 per night

Whilst for the most part I agree with previous reviews, I must mention that we did find the two dogs belonging to the adjacent bungalow a nuisance, constant barking for most of the day and night, even keeping us awake during the night. Our reason for visiting the area was to catch up with family and friends. We only saw the site owner upon payment of fees, they live a few hundred yards down the road. Due to the barking dogs we will not be visiting this site again.

Great site, 9 - 17 March 2014

This was our first time out this year and wanted to visit an area we had never seen before. After studying the area we thought that Hornsea would be a good place to base ourselves and this turned out to be true.  The site is on the edge of a small hamlet (not strictly true but the best way to describe the location). The field is very well kept with two hardstandings. As we were the first visitors of the season we had the pick of the spots and chose pitch 2, a generous sized hardstanding with loose small stone which was easy to pitch our porch awning on.There is ample space for the 5 units and they are dotted around and not in a straight line. There is some road noise from passing cars and tractors but this is intermittent. There are dogs in the next property which do yap at times. The site is approx 2- 3 miles from Hornsea and the roads are all very quiet and relatively flat which made cycling to and from Hornsea a joy whichever of the routes taken.   Hornsea itself is a very pleasant seaside resort, quite small and at the time we visited rather quiet. If visiting the area make sure you have a map before you arrive as trying to purchase an OS map proved impossible. ( The Local Council have promised to address this issue). Other areas to visit are Beverley, Bridlington, Withernsea and Spurn point.  There are a number of local pubs for quizzes, Sky Sports, meals etc.  All in all a very pleasant stay on a great CL. The CL is very good value ( in my opinion worthy of a higher charge). Try it you will not be disappointed. It is possible to view this site on Youtube.

Wonderful Site 25th/27th May 2013

Never having visited this site before I spent 4 nights on this site during the late May Bank Holiday. What a find It is, well worth visiting, spacious with 2 hard standings and 3 excellent grass pitches, 16 amp electrics and only £8 a night an absolute bargain. Close to the east coast and a good pub in the next village of Atwick which do meals, the site is easy to find. However DO NOT follow a sat nav it will take you all over the place, down tiny tracks not suitable trust the directions in the book. On Sunday's there is a massave car boot and market at Skirlington a couple of miles away easy to find.
