a very pleasant site

Very pleasant well maintained site.  A warm welcome.  Great having water at each pitch. Although dry whilst we were there - hard standing always welcome in the increasingly variable weather we have. For those studying local or family history, very convenient for access to Devon County Record Office. Directions in book don't work if travelling from North - there is no sign to Rockbeare.  But still exit at Junct 29, take left lane, signed Science Park and then veer right onto old A30 towards Cranbrook.

Everything that you need

I stayed here as a stopover on my way to west Cornwall.

Easy to find, convenient for approach from the A30 or M5. Well seperated pitches, part hard, even in this watersoaked winter the pitches were firm, individual water and electric stands, a superb toilket block, shower. In close proximity there is a restaurant and pub. Martin made me very welcome, park up first and pay later. Very impressive. Outstanding facilities in beautiful surroundings with excellent connections to trunk roads.

Only 2 day stay

This cl was a 2 day stop off on the way to cornwall, we found it to be quiet and relaxing, the toilet block was clean and tidy the owner was really friendly and the pitches have it all, we found that the pub/restaurant nearby was a bit pricey but you cant blame the site owner for that, we will be returning to this cl as soon as work allows.

Long Weekend Break

We have just returned from an extended weekend break at Rockbeare. The initial booking was really easy with almost an immediate response for our booking via email. The site has views over fields towards the village, with both pub/restaurant within walking distance. This was our first visit to the area and found it easy to access areas such as Exeter and local national trust properties and also the coastline beyond. The site offers 5 hardstanding pitches each with individual water taps, central waste disposal point. We have never stayed on a CL prior to this site but would strongly recommend Rockbeare as a pleasant, peaceful site with reasonable good value facilities and a warm friendly helpful welcome. I should add finally that the roads in the area are good, but if you are coming off the M5 from the north Rockbeare is not signposted, if you follow the Science Park (left) you will see the Rockbeare sign, access to the site is wide and easy.

Good for small to mid size RV size vehicles

I was pleasently supprised by the site. The directions indicated are good. When you swing the outfit into the farm the entrance is big enough to get a RV in, in fact there was a 35foot RV already on-site. The Site benefits from electric and (permenant) water hook up for each of the 5 hardstanding plots, so once on site you only have to walk to empty your waste water. The hardstanding is only slightly inclined by a few degrees, but to help sleep well (head higher then feet), its best to reverse the rig into the space. The facilities were worth the £12 per night and there were also a toilet and shower demountable porta-cabins for both males and females. The toilets need updating, but do have plenty of hot water. The view is nice and also quiet. The owner was very helpful and pleasent. All in all a great spot for the larger vehicle (confirm this when booking, as things do change).
