Very welcoming

We stayed on this CL for a week in early April 2014. The first stay of at least eight months touring.  Mary made us feel very welcome and gave us advice on the local farm shops and other local services.  Even after the recent heavy rain the site was accessible, the ground a bit soft but not so that it proved a problem getting in and out.  It was very dog friendly with a paddock that the dogs were free to run in.  They loved it.   Walking from the site was not easy, but you are only a short car journey from the South Downs and other great walks.  See our blog www.twodogsandanawning.co.uk for details of our walks. The site is convenient to the A27, so there is obviously some traffic noise.  But it did not bother us or spoil our enjoyment of the stay. As we were leaving Mary told us that after thirty years she was moving soon and someone else was taking over the site.  Hopefully they will be as welcoming as Mary.  If in this area again we would stay here.

Lovely CL

My husband & I stayed here during the w/e of the Goodwood Revival as he is a volunteer marshall. This was our first visit to the site and we were very impressed. The proximity to Goodwood for cycling is excellant - there is a short cut lane but the middle goes through a copse and is unmade so caution is needed. The fenced in dog field was perfect for letting our rescue JRT off lead and we enjoyed watching the dog agility sessions too! The site is very well maintained and the hosts very welcoming. The noise from the road abated as we adjusted and was not an issue during our stay. Great area for dog walking and cycling. There is an underpass which is preferable to crossing the A27 which I would recommend! Barnham train station is another option to avoid the dual carriageway on bikes to visit nearby Chichester or Arundel. The little town also has a good sample of shops including a newly established bike repair shop where they carried out a replacement brake cable and adjustment on the spot! There are also places of interest nearby as well as the West Sussex beaches. All in all a lovely sunny site which we can highly recommend and will certainly return to in the future. Thank you to the owners for providing a lovely site.

CL site as it should be. Secluded and level. Dogs not a problem (they have their own special run). Keep up the good work!

first time at a cl

After over 20 years of caravanning, this, amazingly, was our first visit to a CL and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. As has been said in other reviews there was a little bit of background noise from the A27 in the distance but this in no way spoilt our time there. We were there for three days and will certainly go again when we are next in the area. Ours was a nice level pitch and with hook-up and the grass was well kept. We normally have our dog with us (not on this occasion) and the site is well equipped for this. The owners were friendly and welcoming and we also had nice neighbors to talk to. The Goodwood Festival of Speed was on this weekend and we had the delights of the Red Arrows performing above us. All together a very enjoyable weekend.

Lovely CL

Spent 4 days at this CL, and whilst it is near the A27 the distant traffic rumble presents no problems at all. On arriving we were greeted by the owner who told us where everything was and suggested the best pitch available. The site is in a quiet lane and backs onto farmers fields as far as you can see. The grass was kept mown and even after a night of heavy rain the field wasn't muddy. There is a dog agility paddock near the house, which is used regularly but with no noise and the dog owners seemed happy for us to watch! A very relaxed CL which we will certainly come back to.

It's just nice

Whilst situated near the main A27, the noise from the road was in no way intrusive. The site is absolutely charming, as are the hosts. A row of trees shelters the site from any wind and add to the overall sense of tranquillity. Other guests we met there had been coming for 20 years and the owner admitted that "they spend more time here than I do!!!" It's just nice and so will return.
