On arrival at the site gate, I thought I had gone to heaven. I am on a 2 month tour and only stayed 2 nights at this really lovely CL but I could have stayed forever. It is basic with water, toilet disposal, a bin, and the grass roughly cut, but a truly fabulous position. Surprisingly, there is some road noise, but it is drowned out by the birds! The lovely River Dee runs by with walks in both directions and less than half a mile walk through fields to a great pub. Although I was here alone, I felt very safe, and the site is well fenced and gated so my dogs were also safe. The field and approach are on a slope, but the hardstanding and other areas of the site are level enough without chocks. What's not to love for £9, the purfik stopover or stop forever!
What a lovely site! Just got back from 5 nights here. The site is fairly basic, no hard standing, grass only but pretty level, but that is reflected in the price. It's also quiet, tranquil and just - well heaven if you like that sort of thing. There is a fenced off area (which is mainly to keep the cows out), but if there aren't cows in the larger field you can camp right down to the river bank. For three of the five nights we were the only van on site. There is a footpath, but we only saw about half a dozen people using it in all our visit. Good pub a 10 minute walk away, but if you are willing to walk further upstream (and there are some really nice footpaths) you come to an excellent pub, the Boat. I will definitely be back to this one.
Down a small dirt track hidden from the road (no problem in motorhome) and you come to a fenced off area. Room enough without being too close to you neighbours. Water and eslan in far corner. You can't hear the road and you feel a long way away from it. A short riverbank walk takes you to the cross foxes pub which serves excellent food and drink with a view.. Stayed here 3 nights and could very easily of spent a few more!.. Definitely will be back in the future..
Stayed here for 2 nights, wish we could have stayed longer but had boating holiday booked. Tranquil, river Dee at bottom of site. You have the option of pitching in a fenced off compound or going through gate and getting nearer the river and into field with sheep and lambs which we loved. A river walk takes you to local pub, the Cross foxes which was closed at time due to covid restrictions. Didn't meet owners of site as they have a box on gate for payment if you hadn't paid in advance, both sounded very pleasant on the phone. Will certainly be back.
