We had a terrible drive to the site on Wed 25th Sept in all the rain, but on arrival the sun came out long enough to set the caravan up and Jan was there to greet us. We had expected the site to be muddy as the rain didn't stop all day but the field drains so well and was never a problem and it is so quiet and relaxing, just what we needed. It is a very well maintained site, would recommend it as no busy roads nearby so perfect to just chill out or go for a walk. We were there for nine nights and enjoyed our stay.
We always come to Dorset as we used to own a static caravan near but due to costs we sold it so last year we missed coming to this part of Dorset. We searched for camp sites to bring the tourer then I stumbled across this CL site and so glad I did the site is lovely we’re here for 11 nights and the owner Jan has been so friendly even shown our children the sheep and met her puppy once which they are raving about still. To have the space for the kids to run around in and enjoy the fresh air is amazing we will definitely be booking some trips here next year as apposed to a commercial site. You really can’t beat the views accross the fields: https://www.thinglink.com/card/1883472822408315748
A big thank you to Jan for letting us stay and sharing her farm with us
Very easy to locate with lovely views out over the fields. It is a working farm, so there is as expected some farm noise. Flat open grass site, with water, power etc as per any good CL. Nothing is too much bother for the owner, who does not intrude, but is there to offer help or guidance to places when required. We will be back as it meets our requirements. Thank you.
What a find! Short notice golf trip for 3 nights and found this CL mid-way between the two courses we played. Just a perfect CL and one we will definitely be back to. Jan turned up as we arrived, explained everything and left us alone, but on hand in the farm house if needed. Dead easy to get to (with a large twin axle UK Fifth Wheel), plenty of room to manoeuvre into the pitches and as it is on chalk the field drains really well. So, so peaceful, wonderful views and lots to do locally with NT sites very near and Wimborne Minster a lovely town to wander around.
Great little site, so peaceful (best sleep I've had in ages!) lovely views across the countryside.
Easy to book and lovely welcome from Jan. Good location for us as close to where we needed to be.
Good access into the site, fairly flat, well kept and spacious grass pitches, waste facilities and water available.
Would definitely use again and highly recommend.
Just spent 4 days here and it was beautifully tranquil, great views across farm fields, good food at The Anchor in Shapwick less than 10 minutes walk away. Large pitches with EHU with water and waste very close by. Easy to access (I have a twin axle). A very relaxing stay at a great CL. Thank you Jan.
We’ve visited sites that are rated for tranquility, but this beats all of them by a long shot! While a little bit more than we usually pay for a no facilities site, this was lovely and a very warm welcome shortly after we arrived. The water pressure is a little low, meaning the water barrel takes a little longer to fill up, but it gave enough time to empty the grey water every time without spilling over we found! A lovely site with easy access to the surrounding area. Easy to locate, even if not visible current from google street view. Will be adding this to our list of sites to return to in the future.
I felt I had to write a full review on this new site
