lovely site

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Pool Bank Farm, nice easy site to find. We approached from the airport side, the entrance to the site is ok if you take it easy. I hade the gate code sent by e-mail, as the gate opened there was a bit of a steep climb but nothing to worry about. the views are amazing, we only put£5.00 in the meter for our stay. We never met the site owner, we helped our self to the lovely Blackberries and had a lovely pie. the big Fish and Chip restaurant is well worth a visit.

July visit

We arrived at the electric gate and had to phone for the code, then followed a steep climb to the pitches, which are very private but could do with a tidy up. Fully serviced with a coin meter for your electricity. We were looking forward to staying here after seeing the reviews saying how quiet it was. However this was not the case. Yes the view is nice but it was the constant traffic noise from the main road behind that spoilt it for us. We could see it was near the road but not ever having been there didn't know just how much traffic used it! Thankfully it did die down at night otherwise I think we would have moved elsewhere! The toilet was adequate but shared with workers and it was not cleaned for the whole week we were there, also the floor was filthy. We used the park and ride to go into Leeds and visit the Royal Armouries Museum, and Golden Acre park just up the road is nice for a walk.

Amazing views

Amazing views from the site. The pitches are all enclosed with high hedges, apart from pitch 5 which is set out on its own. Each pitch has its own water, EHE and drain. The Electric charged by the meter is fine, you pay for what you use. There is a toilet at this site also. It can be quite hard to reverse your caravan onto the pitch as there is kerb opposite, but it can be done. The only issue is the tight entrance way, followed by an uphill climb, but then how else would you get to the views?

A gem of a site

We've stayed on this site several times and have always enjoyed it. There's a great view across the valley, its very quiet and you always receive a warm welcome from David. It is a very secure site with a code needed to gain admittance. The entrance needs a little care especially if you have a large outfit. The pre booking information was excellent The water/electricity arrangements are well thought out but take £2 or £1 coins with you for the electricity meter. We paid about £1.50 a day for electricity - very good value. The site provides a great base with easy access to lots of local places and buses to Leeds and Otley are only a few minutes walk away. We'll be using the site again.

First timers here

Read all the reviews about noise and dodgy access. In truth if you are an experienced tower then you won’t have any difficulty. Swing out wide etc and all is good. Never saw the site owner all weekend, but we don’t need so no issue. The site is lovely. The views are stunning! We have E&P levelling, if not then you will need blocks for the front steadies. Fully serviced and all worked as it should. The toilet block is a short walk, not far at all. We decided to put heating on gas, and run fridge and all else on electric. Used £2 in electric for 2 nights, and 2 litres of gas (safefill). So all in all very good value for money. The waste bin isn’t recycle friendly, just a massive bin. And it’s a way away by the main entrance. We just dropped the republish of on the way out of the site. We will 100% be back.

We loved it !

There were some average reviews for this site so we went not expecting perfection and we loved it ! The pitches are very large and private. The view is just wonderful ! If you have dogs, this site is great and for a bank holiday weekend the atmosphere was chilled and we all had the space to relax. There is one toilet which helps if you are not self sufficient. It is in a really good location with easy access to everything we wanted to see. We will definitely return !

Ps. Electric cost us approx £10 for 3 nights use and will heating on at times so i dont think that is too bad at all.

Essential Reading if Looking to Stay Here in Aug/Sept 2022

Booked this site in March 2022 to arrive on Saturday 6th August 2022 for 4 nights. We chose this site for essential peace and quiet based on the reviews on here and Google Maps. Pre-arrival information was spot on and we got a phone call from David the day before arrival to check we had all the required info as he was going to be away for the weekend. On arrival we were horrified to find that the adjacent fields directly in line of the view across the valley were holding a music festival. Upon doing some research accompany called Glorious Glamping had set up for 10 mini weekend festivals through summer starting in mid-July. Music can be played until 10.30pm (it went on until 11.20pm followed by drunken screaming and singing. I am not saying don't go to this site, it is just additional info that isn't anywhere that's easy to find. We were expecting peace and quiet so we left early. Had we been told on Friday we would have turned up on Sunday for 3 nights. Everything else is as per the other reviews.

Great views but....

We have just arrived back from a week here. The pre booking information was excellent and we like to be able to pay in full beforehand. We liked the privacy afforded by the hedges around each pitch and the on site dog walking was excellent. We are familiar with the area and so knew what was available nearby. The view from our pitch was outstanding and the site is generally well kept. Having read the reviews before we booked we were aware that there would be some road noise. There was but it didn’t keep us awake at night, you were aware that cars were nearby. Our two issues with the site are that there is no bin compound- you have to take your rubbish down to the bin by the main road, outside the main gates. This is quite a considerable distance away. Our main complaint, and the reason that we won’t be returning, is the charge for electricity. There were just the two of us, we went out most days, it was the end of May and so the heating wasn’t on, we only used gas for cooking and yet we paid out £17 for electricity! We have used caravan club CLs for over 20 years and this is a first.

Amazing View

Information before arrival via e-mail was good and great to be able to pay online before arriving View is excellent from the site, each pitch is very secluded with large hedges on three sides, which does mean the pitches are in the shade for a good proportion of the day. Each pitch has a tap, and EHU connection, grey waste is discharged beneath the hedge. EHU is metered and takes £1 coins. We did think compared to other sites considering the cost per night (£25) and the addition of metered electricity (we spent about £4.50 / day in April) was on the high side considering what other sites offer for lower costs. Well located for visitng adjacent towns and for Emmerdale fans can recommend the Emmerdale Village tour

View as described

Yes, the view is impressive. Enjoyed watching the trains on the viaduct. Site is secluded accessed by gate with key code then up a fairly steep hill. Booked & paid on-line, excellent, after enquiring by email. Site is well kept, no idea about the toilet, didn’t use it. Slight road noise but very quiet overnight. We had a good 11 mile walk including a stop for coffee at Bloomfield Square in Otley, definitely worth a visit. We are road cyclists but didn’t tackle any routes on this visit as being on a main steep hill road put me off. Personally as we choose to only walk or cycle from sites & not drive it wasn’t ideal for us but quite satisfactory for a couple of nights. A little more expensive at £18 p/n plus metered electricity than many CL’s but again we were satisfied.
