Ease of arrival/welcome

A warm welcome and excellent access to Kent and Surrey. Pub and local attractions within walking distance.

We stayed here for 9 nights and had a great time. Pelverers farm is so well located for easy access to the A21. We used it as a base and visited up to Chartwell, Seven Oaks, Ightham Mote and Knole and down to Rye and Hastings visiting every National Trust and English Heritage site inbetween :) . After setting up pitch (we were on pitch 4) we walked to Scotney Castle which is beautiful and only a mile from the field to the Ticket booth, what a gorgeous place with lots of grounds and woodland to walk. We also walked to Lamberhurst village and visited the Chequers pub from Scotney castle which is lovely welcoming pub. On another day we walked back to Scotney and had a drink at The Vineyard pub on our return - very nice too. Another walk we did from the site was to Bewl Water, there's a little bit of road walking to get to the footpaths along the field but the road was pretty straight so just wear something bright for that part. Once off the road its straight across the fields and through a bluebell wood (in April) and you come to the Bewl water entrance. We went in the evening so everything was closed but looks like there's lots there during the day. The owners of the CL were lovely, friendly and welcoming. The 1 toilet is shared use with the businesses but for that last visit before you leave once all packed away is very handy indeed. We saw a deer in the field alongside the CL one evening which was lovely. The field is sloped down a little so take something to level side to side/front to back. When we stayed the field was wet but there was a lot of rain overnight. We didn't have trouble getting on or offsite ourselves. We would definitely go back. NB The Brown Trout pub recently closed but still the other 2 within walking distance. The Vineyard is closest.
