A great site and beautiful weather

This site has been on my 'hit list' for a while and finally we were able to go there last weekend for a few days when the September weather was beautiful. Although only an hour from home it was really good to be in lovely countryside, away from everything and no noise (apart from the Spitfires overhead that I don't count as noisy). As everyone else has said, Tracey is a great host and is there if you need her, otherwise you can just relax. The grass pitch was well drained and we could park up parallel to the tree line so had a lovely view across the field. There is a large contained dog field adjacent to the pitches was ideal for those early morning & late night trips our canine friends need! 2 easy walks from the site take you to Bewl Water in one direction & Scotney Castle in the other. We were lucky to be there for Scotney's Heritage weekend which was really good but even without this Scotney is always worth visiting. A photographer or artist ideal location! An even shorter walk, about 10 minutes, takes you to the Vineyard Pub that does great Sunday roasts and local ales. Although it was September we booked a table and just as well we did as it was really busy. If you have a smaller van or a car there are so many other places nearby you could visit. For us, as a great little site to visit and chill for a few days, it is ideal and we will certainly be going back next year. Thank you, Tracey and see you in the spring.
