Great week away

Just returned from Peacocks CL site. Well what can I say, Eric is a great chap, caring, helpful to say the least. A well maintained site about 3 mile out from Skegness. The site is adults only, peaceful and tranquil. £15 per night plus electricity, which for us worked out at about £2 per night. Great prices. Would definitely recommend the site and we hopefully will go back again.

Peaceful little gem

Just returned from this lovely little CL. Welcomed by Eric who showed us around and explained things. He was very jovial, accommodating, helpful and happy to chat. Eric keeps the grounds really nice mowing the lawns and tending the trees etc. It a spacious and peaceful campsite with spacious pitches. Best nights sleeps we’ve had for ages. No noise or distractions. Close to Gunby Hall which is lovely and well worth a visit, a local Garden Centre on Skegness Road, Gibraltar port and not far from the Lincolnshire aviation centre at East Kirkby if you’re interested in aeroplanes. There are supermarkets in Skegness with fuel. Very fair prices for metered electric as it cost us only £7 for five nights. We will definitely return.

Great little gem

Just visited Eric at Peacocks (14.4.21) What a lovely, quiet well laid out site. Nice pitches with plenty of extra grassed areas for relaxing. Must admit that I was nearly deterred by a previous review - but I'm afraid I cannot concur with those adverse comments. The owner was super helpful and friendly and the site was excellent. Walked into Skegness (about an hour walk) and £9 for a taxi return. Enjoyed a spring treat of Lincolnshire sausage followed by hot donuts! Thanks Eric - we will be back!

Great CL with a friendly welcome

Stayed here for a few nights in September and found it absolutely ideal for the coast and pretty villages nearby. We went out on our bikes everyday. Eric who runs the CL is really nice and very helpful and sociable. He was out working all of the time and is continuously improving the site. He was very helpful, when unfortunately we had some damage to our awning.. We would definitely return and enjoyed our chats with Eric. Thank you Eric; we will see you again!

Overpriced and not very good !

Far to over priced for what you get !! Site was awful as so small, poorly laid out and cramped for 5 vans and which was waterlogged for several days and remained very soggy and muddy for our duration, so cam imagine that getting water and doing recycling was a chore, although pitch 3 gets a great view of other emptying their toilets though ! Says £12 per night then charged us £14, giving us a cock n bull that we were over a certain length and weight, We're a twin axle !!!!!! Electric was extra and we ended up with a bill of £35, and that was with us working out how much we were going to be charged after day 2 and using our gas as well, which works out more expensive than leccy ! So it cost us £20 a night for 7 nights, this site in no more than a £14 a night max for what you get and as we've been using cls for 10 years we know what a good one is and this isn't value for money at all !!

Just Lovely

We spent 10 days at Peacocks and what a lovely stay we had. The pitch we had was fully serviced and we had a view over the large garden and small orchard area. There was a toilet and shower if you required them As has been said the electricity is metered and we found the cost very reasonable. Eric was helpful and obviously likes to keep the CL in good order as he was often seen cutting hedges and grass. It was a good base for exploring the area being close to Skegness if you like traditional seaside amenities and easy to access other areas if you wish to explore further afield. We visited NT properties and, various coastal wildlife trust reserves. The Village, Church Farm is an open air museum just a short distance from the centre of Skegness. It's run by volunteers and has restored buildings and various exhibitions. Entry is by donation. Also Dobsons mill and Heritage centre in Burgh Le Marsh 2 miles or so from the CL is free entry. We had a very informative tour of the windmill. We would recommend The Old Chequers Inn, Croft about a 5 minute drive from Peacocks for a meal. We would certainly return to Peacocks.

1 weeks holiday

I have just returned from a weeks holiday at Peacocks CL, when we arrived we were greeted by Eric, who explained the setup and gave us some advice. We used a service pitch so no need to carry water. The site is flat level with closley mown grass. Access to the site is easy from the A52 which makes it an ideal center for touring the locality. One of the ways that I think of sites is I asked myself would I return? I have booked two nights at Peacocks in early August, as we are moving to skegness in August its helpfull to have to a local site which I can recomend to friends when they visit us. One final point the electric is metered, the reading is taken when you arrive and when you leave Eric takes another reading I was pleasantly suprised as to how little it cost for the electric just over £1.00 per day and we use an electric infrared oven when on site. Eric sets the standard others aspire to,

Lovely site

Lovely small, quiet site round 3 miles from skegness. Warm welcome from friendly owners, electric is on a meter as the site describes and is reasonably priced. It was a 15 minute bike ride into Skegness and 30 minutes bike to gibralter point, all very safe. Would recommend this site is visiting the area

Enjoyed our stay

Only stayed one night as we were passing through. Rang from Skegness and were there is 5 mins. Warm welcome even though our host was going out that evening. Excellent facilities and we had an excellent nights sleep. Local roads are quite narrow and some unevenness in places so keep your speed down.

Great spacious site

Arrived to a very friendly welcome. Had booked 6 nights but stayed for 7. Would have liked to stayed longer. Choice of grass or full serviced pitches. Very peaceful site with some distant agricultural sound. Electric is metered and cost £6.80 for 7 nights so we got 20p back. Definitely will be going again! Thanks to Eric and Caroline for a great week.
