Superb site - hidden gem!

Currently staying here on site in our motorhome! What a lovely gem. We live not far from here and will definitely return. A huge range of well cared for plants and trees at very reasonable prices at the on-site nursery. Would much prefer to support a local family run business such as this than a big retailer. Such friendly service from Dawn and her family. The campsite is a 5 pitch site with EHU and water on each pitch separated by laurel hedges with chemical toilet point. Well behaved dogs are welcome and allowed to roam in the cherry orchard in front of the pitches. Very clean and well maintained. No toilets or showers but we were self sufficient so didn’t need these. We used levellers as there is a slight slope to the pitch. We were able to put out our fitted awning on the grass next to the gravel pitch. Our 7.5m motorhome made the turn into the gates in two manoeuvres with ease. Very peaceful site. The Rose & Crown pub is 5 mins up the road and serves great food. The Tuck-inn cafe is at the end of the road for a traditional all day brekkie cafe. Thanks for a great stay and see you again soon. X

Good location and peaceful

Stayed for two nights and used as a base for visiting this part of Kent. Not far from the main roads but very quiet. Friendly owners in the adjacent plant nursery. Five hard standing pitches, each separated by a hedge with EHU and water supply. You will probably need blocks because it is slightly uneven. There is a large lawned area opposite the pitches as well as an orchard so all in all very agreeable. In terms of the pricing, £20 seems reasonable these days with the increased cost of electricity. Would definitely use this site again.

Very quiet

Very quiet site, the entrance is ok, you may need to take it in two parts but it really won't be problematic unless you have a huge motorhome or a trailer. We have a Citroen relay XLWB and managed fine. Small site with hookups on each pitch. Very welcoming hosts. We won't hesitate to return. You will need ramps as it is slightly uneven.

Our new favourite for visiting North Kent

Please don't be put off by the more negative reviews. This site is tucked away, and very peaceful, with a lovely warm welcome in a rural location. We found it very clean. We are self contained but as EHU was included in the £20 pitch fee we used it. We had the place to ourselves and appreciated the grassy green space opposite the pitches, the trimmed grass, the hard access road to the pitches, the view of the orchards, the dark skies, the nearby friendly pub, and the easy access to the main roads with links to all the attractions Kent has to offer. We had no restrictions at the time for our arrival or departure, though this may differ if they were fully booked. Yes, there is a U turn to access the site if approaching from the A2. I checked Google maps and Google's Street View to see for myself and planned a detour through the village to approach from the other direction but we didn't use it. We spoke to the owners, took their advice, took it wide and slow and it was no bother. Yes the pitches are slightly uneven and slightly sloping. But I've pitched on far worse. If you want a perfect level manicured pitch I suggest you forget most CLs and use a Club Site. As for price, given the local options, the fact it wasn't just a grassy field, that ehu was included, and that we've paid more in the locality we thought the price was fair. We loved it there and we'll be back. Thank you. Wish I could upload a photo of the entrance.

Oh dear

We stayed here for two nights in April. On a positive note we had a lovely welcome from the owner and it was handy for visiting Rochester and the Chatham historic dockyard. We booked the site after reading the glowing reviews. The entrance was ridiculous. You had to do a u turn to get in. We just about managed it with a two berth caravan anything longer would have to unhitch. the entrance could easily have been made for a straight run in. The hardstanding pitches were really rough road chippings and dont understand why if going to the trouble of doing a hardstanding , why they were not made level. the pitch is only wide enough to put a caravan or motorhome on, your step had to be on the muddy grass. Car had to go on the grass or infront of pitch. One pitch was really narrow and scruffy. Litter was blowing about around the pitches and it generally needed some T L C. Very disapointed and overpriced at £20 per night.

Motorhomes Beware

Very easy to book by phone. Having seen previous reviews, when booking I asked about the entrance and was assured there would be no problem. On arrival I missed the sign to the campsite and ended up in the adjacent car park for the plant nursery. Not a problem as there is access through. Welcomed by the owner who was friendly and helpful. The site is basic but has all you need. The hardstanding pitches are slightly sloping so do not forget levelling blocks, (unlike me!) Plenty big enough for van, awning and car. The local area has various attractions but I would recommend the nearby Country Park and surroundings if you are a twitcher, loads of ducks and waders. Although we visited in February, the traffic all around was very heavy and getting anywhere took much longer than anticipated. Against that the weather was beautiful. On departure we were again faced with the turn out onto the road. Quite simply my 7.5 metre camper would not go round. There is room to back and try again but as I had a small trailer it immediately jack-knifed. During our stay another camper arrived with car and caravan and accessed easily enough, so just beware if you have a large motorhome with trailer. So a nice site in good location for visiting north Kent.

Quiet, Peaceful, Welcoming

Just returned from 6 nights at Paradise Camp Site. It is a new CL with hardstandings to each pitch which are slightly sloping front to back and side to side with separating hedges. The hardstanding is wide enough for a caravan or MoHo and with a grass lawn for an awning - which is my preferred layout. Each pitch has its own electrical supply and their are 3 standpipes. If more than 3 units staying, I presume that they provide splitters to share the connections, but during our entire stay, there was only one other unit on site. It is directly next to the owner's small nursery / garden centre and within a cherry orchard. The owners and family are exceptionally friendly and helpful. North Kent is not really a tourist area, but is a suitable location to visit places just a bit further afield with good road access, although very busy. Access into the CL is tight, requiring a 180 degree turn - and avoid any SatNav directions that attempt to take you to the site from any route other than off the A2. The lane from the south is **extremely** narrow with numerous 90 degree bends. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and a CL that we would return to without hesitation if going back to the area

Paradise

This CL has all you would like from a CL . Electric hook up and fresh water to each hard standing pitch and CDP close by. The site is situated next to the owners garden nursery and within an cherry Orchard. The rural setting gives Cham to this relatively new CL and the owners are very helpful and accommodating. Have stay here twice this year for five days each. And have been suitably impressed. It’s location gives many choices of places to visit within ease reach.

Very welcoming

After missing the hairpin turn into the correct set of gates, entered the Nursery car-park by mistake. Quickly greeted by a very nice Mr Love who helped, direct us to back through into the right gated entrance. Spoilt with EHU and water on each pitch. All pitches face an apple orchard. Mrs Love recommended breakfast at the TUCK INN at the lane entrance, highly recommended for good value and a huge English breakfast. Slightly sloping so chocks maybe required. Yes we hope to return.
