Absolutely loved it!!

We stayed at Orchard View for 3 weeks in June, and we absolutely loved it! There is so much to see and do in the area that we could happily have stayed longer. The site is quite large, and surrounded by fields of sheep and horses. The pitches are serviced pitches, apart from waste water, and electricity is included. There is a bag of local tourist information leaflets, and a book swap which were greatly appreciated. Recycling facilities are clearly marked, and the disposal areas are clean and tidy. On arrival we were given a laminated sheet of local information and a parking clock, both very useful. The highlight of the site for us was putting up our birdfeeders and watching the parent woodpecker feeding the chicks each morning (we had at least 3 woodpeckers, possibly four). We also saw coal tits, chaffinches, goldfinches. The sunsets were amazing!! The site itself is very quiet, with the only rare traffic being from the farm, and although there is the background hum of traffic from the main road, this is distant and wasn’t a problem. We loved Knaresborough, and enjoyed the Theakstons Brewery tour. On our visit to Jervaulx Abbey we saw Robson Green recording an episode of his Weekends programme. Our favourite place was Brimham Rocks, which is a lovely walk. We’re really sad to be leaving, and although we rarely return to sites again, we loved the site, the owner Diane was lovely and there’s so much left to do, we’ll have to come back.
