Very happy camper.

We stayed for 10 nights in Sep 2021 and we were made to feel very welcome. An array of farm animals to chat to when emptying the waste ( Gloucester Old Spot piglets were amazing !) and wonderful views. There is a terrific view of the A1M at the bottom of the valley, but not intrusive noise levels. We were entertained several days by the boys from the RAF with their Tornados ( I think? ) and training flight planes and helicopters but only in daylight hours. Very entertaining, I must say. Very handy for the villages and towns of North Yorkshire. Ripon Cathedral is a must visit and Fountains Abbey. It is a fair old drag for us from Cheshire but if we return to this area, Orchard View will be our first point of call to stay at. Also, very handy for those of us who are heading North or South and wish to spend a few days in the area. Sorry for the late review. I'm afraid I thought I had already done one. Better late than never, they say. Les and Vera

Mature Couple

One night stop in September on our way to Scotland. Very easy access to and from the A1. Some slight road noise from the A1, but not enough to cause any problems. Warm welocme from the owner. Attractive site.

A great stay

We stayed here for 11 nights and really enjoyed it. Friendly owners, all facilities a CL needs including hook-up and water adjacent to each pitch, and fresh eggs from Chloe, the little daughter! Ideally situated for the Dales yet close to the A1. Lovely animals on the farm including ponies, goats, piglets, sheep and cattle. A help-sheet of local shops, supermarkets, doctors etc was given to us on arrival, together with a parking disc valid in the local towns. Highly recommended, and will not hesitate to stay next time we are in the area.

Great site

We stayed here for 4 nights over the early May Bank Holiday and had a very relaxing break. We only travelled half an hour from home but wanted to safely meet up with friends with plenty of outdoor space. The site is really easy to access from the A1 and although you can see the traffic in the distance from the site there is little or no noise. We were met on arrival by Diane and given an information sheet and parking disc for nearby Bedale and then given a choice of pitches as there was only one other van already there. We chose 2 pitches at the top end of the field which were lovely and flat.We had loads of room to put up our awnings and sit between the vans. Chris was busy cutting the grass and picking it up when we arrived and the site looked very tidy! There is water and EHU to every pitch. We had a walk round the orchard and really enjoyed watching the animals that are in various adjoining fields. There are lots of places to visit nearby but as we are local we were happy to just stay on site and relax helped by the lovely weather that we enjoyed. We will definitely return to this lovely CL when we are just looking for a short break near home

Second attempt 🙂. Delightful location, EHU & water tap on each pitch. Lots of thought to Covid and cleanliness.

ORCHARD VIEW, BEDALE, 2-9 August 2020 (on website not yet in directory) Lovely CL. Exceptionally well maintained and slightly sloping well drained lawned paddock. Our hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lots of space for the five pitches and the policy of ‘park were you want within reach of your designated electric point’, was excellent. Everybody was into social distancing and respecting others space so there was loads of space for each pitch. (Only one tourer that arrived later in the week showed zero consideration in this respect and for some reason felt the need to park as close to a neighbour as he possibly could). All facilities were first class. Immaculate chemical disposal point (also used for grey water) with hand sanitiser and wipes provided. Very clean electric hook up and water tap on each pitch. There were horses, cattle, goats and pigs in adjoining paddocks. All fun to watch and all as well cared for as the site itself. The orchard produces apple juice for cider making and makes for a pleasant walk around. We also enjoyed an attractive walk to the nearby village of Pickhill, and Bedale, Thirsk and Ripon all within a short drive. The site itself was down a long, easy and well cared for private driveway and consequently was a good distance from the A1. Traffic noise varied between non existent and minimal. Absolutely no problem. Great location, nice owners. We look forward to a return visit.

Lovely new C L

Just back from this fairly new C L., it is really easy to find and close to A 1 but no intrusive noise from it. Lovely welcome on arrival, allowed to choose pitch and how we set up, lots of advice on shops, Pubs, Garages,Vets etc . Don.t be worried about cleanliness re Covid-19 as owners out first thing each day discinfecting around Chemical/waste emptying point and as soon as any one leaves they do the same around the pitch, there is a water tap to each pitch so one less worry. It was obvious that owners are caravanners as Hubby said the chemical toilet was the easiest he has come across for emptying!!! Lots of animals to watch too, this is an adult only site . We can recommend to anyone.

Lovely Site

Stayed here for 4 nights and despite arriving in the rain had no problems parking up in our motorhome. A very warn welcome from Lindsay with info and parking disc for when out and about. The site is beautifully kept and the grass is obviously picked up. Chemical disposal spotless and sanitiser provided for the tap and hose. This a is a lovely site which I can highly recommend.

Top rated CL

Stayed on this site for four nights, totally impressed by the drive down to the site before even reaching it, even more impressed when we got to it, a large mostly level field, very spacious and well maintained. We were met at the entrance to the cl and given a laminated information sheet of local facilities Doctors, vets etc the site is easy to get to and although only a quarter of a mile from the A1 the noise is not intrusive at any time, the drive is a lovely walk to exercise the dog, Please clean up after your dog, some owners don't unfortunately, there is also a nice walk round the orchard. A good area for grey and chemical disposal has been built near the entrance, as good a disposal area as I have ever come across in 30 years of caravanning. I can't find anything to complain about on this site it's perfect for a quiet restful stay. Owners are very unobtrusive but always available if needed. We will be back.
