STAYED HERE END OF SEPTEMBER 2015,VERY NICE WELCOME BY OWNER WHO STAYED IN UNTIL WE ARRIVED,EVERYTHING VERY WELL LAID OUT,VERY EASY ACCESS, NO LEVELING REQUIRED,WE COULD SEE SCOTLAND OVER THE BAY, WE HAD THE BENEFIT OF THE LATE SEPTEMBER SUNSHINE, BAYWATCH HOTEL ONE MILE AWAY SERVING VERY GOOD FOOD, AND TO TOP IT ALL THE LOCAL BUS WILL PICK YOU UP AT THE END OF THE ROAD MEANING YOU CAN GET TO ANYWHERE IN CUMBRIA IF YOU SO WISH, WE SHALL DEFINITELY RETURN TO THIS GEM OF A SITE.
A Gem
Owners welcoming and friendly. This is a very well mown grass site with just two rows of hard standing under each pitch to drive the motor home on too.The toilet facility was spacious and spotless, there used to be a shower unfortunately abused by mindless people so the owners had no option than to remove what a shame. The coast walk to Allondy was great for the dogs a lovely village with pubs and a great fish and chippy.
We loved this site and will revisit in the future.
Our first CL
We chose this site for our first outing in a new outfit, just to test all of the equipment whilst not being too far from home (15 miles). It was our first ever CL, being new to the Caravan Club, and if all CL's are to this standard I will be very happy.
The owners were very friendly and the site is both well-tended and immaculately clean. All of the facilities (Water, waste etc) are laid out in a logical and accessible way making it easy to top up and dispose of waste water, chemical and fresh water.
The site is directly by the coastline so only one minor road to cross to get access to the beach for miles of dog walking. There are great views across the countryside and complete silence overnight with only the odd sound of a sheep or cow to remind you that you are outdoors.
Access to and from the site is easy if you are in a longer outfit (we have a motorhome) and turning around on site should be easy too. This is a very well mown grass site with just two rows of hard standing under each pitch to reverse your wheels onto. I liked this as you have the benefit of hard standing whilst still getting the "outdoor" feel of being on grass.
The toilet facility was spacious and spotless with room for a shower within the building in future. We only stayed one night, so the lack of a shower was not an issue.
I will no doubt visit this site again in future.
Maryport weekend
A lovely quiet tranquil site. Only missing a shower but didnt and wouldnt put us off visiting again. Owner welcoming and friendly. Area lovely more for older people to see and do than kids although grassed areas and attractions available. Beach pebbley, and muddy but ok for dog walks.
lovely views
We found this camp site when driving past as we had not booked anywhere for that night. We were made very welcome and there was only one other caravan on the site. The toilet facilities were spotless and there was room to put a shower in for the future. The views of the lakeland mountains were lovely with the sun shining on them. After about half an hour we had a heavy hail stone shower and when we looked again the mountains were covered in snow. There is a beach just across the road and up in the village I believe there is a pub although we did not visit. There was paving stones for our motor home to park on . We loved this site and although we only stayed one night we would like to revisit in the future.
