A Short Break
I recently found out (thanks to Peggy's research) that I have some ancestors from Norfolk just a few miles from Old Bridge Farm CL, so, we decided to take a 3 night break here. We found the CL site to be a wonderful place to spend 3 nights. The CL is large and spacious, overlooking some woodland and the lake. We found the site is in a great location to walk into North Walsham along the Weaver's Way which is only 100 yards from the CL. There are buses and a train station in North Walsham and you can be in Cromer or Sheringham within 20 minutes if you are looking for some seaside. You can also walk the other way to Aylsham which is about 4 or 5 miles. There are 2 or 3 other walks directly from the site, into North Walsham 1 1/2 miles or Felmingham 1 mile which has a post office with a small village store attached. The CL is a smallholding so there were some animals close to the pitches, a couple horses and some lovely rare breed cows with calves which made a bit of noise but only because they had recently been put out to pasture and were calling David for their breakfast. They have dogs on the smallholding which made a bit of noise and the site seems to be on the helicopter flight path out to the North Sea. I only mention this as some people want absolute quiet but we felt none of this lessened our enjoyment of the visit. David said we could walk about in the woodland and by the lake and we took advantage of this. There is plenty of wildlife in the area because of this, to include some geese, owls, day-flaying bats to mention but a few. There are plenty of water points on the site close to the pitches so servicing was easy. All-in-all we found Old Bridge Farm to be a great and well-located site.
