Lovely site on the Doorstep of Louth

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid June with our caravan and 2 small dogs. The site has good access and 2 hard standings with 3 lawned pitches and well laid out. Prior to our arrival there had been several days of torrential rain and the site was still very wet when we got there.Fortunately we were allocated one of the hard standings.Over the 3 days we were there the site dried and returned to normal. We were welcomed by the owners on our arrival and we were given information regarding the locality and events. The site is surrounded by trees and open fields and quiet and would have been ideal for dog walking except for the weather. The water and waste facilities are suitably placed. The lovely town of Louth is within easy reach with lots of of interesting buildings, shops and pubs. Although our stay was short we will definitely stay again when in the area.

a week at Nutty Cottage CL with friends and dogs

Nice site easy to access with electric water and waste within reasonable distance. Pleasant surroundings and lots of space to walk the dogs. Pitches pretty level and even grass pitches had paving slabs for the caravan wheels. The site owners welcomed us and offered lots of information about local area and places to visit . Not too far to Lincoln or Mablethorpe -well positioned. For those who like to keep in touch - limited and variable mobile data availability - we tried EE and Vodafone. Unfortunately we had rain while we stayed here. Both us and our friends have dogs which sleep in the awnings - this became impossible as the awnings soon became pretty water logged. In fact the whole site could do with more drainage and soak aways - as the water didn't drain away very quickly at all - in the end we came home a day early. Site owners were informed but didn't show much empathy - a nice gesture would have been the offer of using their tumble drier to dry some of our mountain of wet towels - which were quite visible.

Easter 2014

Stayed for 8 nights over Easter 2014 and cannot fault the site,Jane the owner was friendly and informative, the views were fantastic, access easy, slight traffic noise but did not distract from the lovely surrounding of this CL site.We have a large tag axle motorhome and were given a hard standing pitch for ease of access, would definitely return in the future.

Well managed and organised CL

Positives - Easy access from road. Level marked pitches with individual power outlet. Two good hardstandings. Well sheltered by mature trees. Sunshine (when it's out!) all day including evenings. Excellent disposal point. Very pleasant and helpful owners. Pleasant all round views from site. Close to shops etc in Louth. Negatives - Limited amount of road noise - but not intrusive. Not all CL users will appreciate the lack of option with pitches. Overall - A very good site with very high standards all round at very reasonable price. Many thanks for a good stay.

Lovely Locaton

Easy access from main road but please ensure you follow the instructions in the book as you could easily end up in the B+B they also run. Good hard standings and easy access to water and disposal. Some people might find the nearby road noisy but it is well shielded with trees and for us wasn't a problem. The local pub called the Splash needs to be booked to ensure you get a table sadly it was fully booked when we tried on a Saturday evening. Really nice hosts who even came out in a howling gale and dark to help make sure we pitched up OK. Would recommend.

Great Site

We stayed here for the weekend a few Januarys ago but the site was to boggy to stay on but as we were the only ones there we stayed on the gravel drive which was perfect. We saw loads of wildlife including a huge fox who calmly trotted across the field. The site is relatively quiet but right next to a busy road which could bother some people. Site owner was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. There is also one of the best pubs I have been in a couple of miles down the road called "The Splash" Highly recommended for food and good ales.

keep it secret or everyone will know ?

This is a lovely CL with easy access and a warm, friendly welcome from owners Jane and Mick. The site is level with nicely cut grass and sheltered from the road by a small wood traveling the length of the CL, I understand they are about to have two pitches hard cored, better for winter. Lots to do and see around Louth, The market, lots of great eating out pubs, specially the Splash and Brown cow on Friday nights ? Cadwell is close and also Kenwick park golf club backs onto this site, Fishing just down the road and great waking and mountain biking area too. I can only think that there has been no earlier review because everyone who has found this site wants to keep it secret.
