Excellent Site

This site was perfect for us. It is situated over a mile from the public road, accessible via a private farm road which is concrete and in very good condition. As a result, the site feels very peaceful and very secure. The only noise comes from the railway line which runs next to the site, but we didn't find this at all intrusive. If you have a dog, this site is very good, as you can walk the private access road and there is a field accessible from the site. Rosie, the site owner met us on arrival and was very friendly. There are no marked out pitches, so you can go wherever your hook up cable will reach. We pitched in a nice shady spot under some trees. We will definitely visit this site again.

Great site

Have just returned from a 3 night stay at this site. We were blessed with a bout of glorious weather. We loved it. The approach to the farm is easily accessible. There is a very long driveway which has good passing points. The site owners, Merlin & Rosie, made us feel very welcome and gave us good information on local points of interest and facilities. We were spoilt by having the site to ourselves, apart from one night, but there is plenty of room between pitches if the site was fully occupied. Nearby train line did not cause any disturbance. Good (and secure) park & ride close by for Oxford city centre. Blenheim Palace approx 8 miles away. Will definitely visit again.

M40 A34 STOPOVER

We used this CL heading down to Dover as an overnight stop. Also ideal for those on the A34 heading towards Portsmouth. The CL has a very good concrete road leading to the main site. Easy access. Grass was well cut with plenty of space. Although we used it as a stopover it is ideal for Oxford. As you drive down the concrete road there is a split. The left tracks leads to the non electric pitches, the right to the electric pitches. Trains can be seen from the CL. Caused us no problem at all

Excellent CL for a peaceful stay

Stayed two nights here when seeking a quiet weekend get away and this CL was ideal. The owner was helpful and welcoming, talking us through the best place to set up, given recent high water in the adjacent river. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed our first opportunity to sit out in the late afternoon sunshine of 2018. Enjoyed being a long way from the road and felt secure with the coded security gate. Clean, well-tended grass and our pitch was completely level. We will come here again, I am sure.

Lovely spacious CL

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this lovely large CL. We took 2 leads so we had a lot of choice as to where to park. We liked being a long way from the road - the farm road is very easy. It is in a superb location for visiting all the places of interest around Oxford. We had to give it a 4 for peace and tranquility because of the trains, but they were very quiet and infrequent so didn’t bother us at all. Thank you Mr and Mrs Smith - we will definitely be back!

Best Type of CL.

We've just spent five happy days enjoying this lovely site and the local area. Couldn't quite believe how much space was available to choose our pitch from. Very pleasant owner. Definitely a "return to soon" for us.

Spacious site ideal for Oxford Park & Ride

This is a pretty, spacious lawned site adjacent to the River Cherwell (where many a body has been recovered in Inspector Morse stories). To take advantage of the top half of the site, an extension cable would be an advantage. The mile or so of concrete path is no problem, with plenty of passing places. There is some day-time noise from nearby trains and distant roads, but nothing to fuss over. Ideal for Oxford Park & Ride, and Blenheim Palace - which has a cracking 8 mile circular walk using public footpaths, so no need for an entry ticket!

A Gem

We stayed here in order to attend CountryFileLive at Blenheim. Once you enter the code in the gate and travel along the concrete road overpassing the A34 and the Chiltern railway, then pass through fields of crops, you instinctively know to expect something out of the ordinary. You arrive to check in at the farmhouse and concentrate on the instructions, pulling in on the weigh bridge as the driver concentrates on where to go. The driver misses the excitement of the passengers as they look left and see a field full of reindeer. Mrs Smith greets you and you understand the passion, but more importantly, the necessity for farming and to protect it. A brilliant location to host an 'Open Farm Sunday' event to educate the dreaming spires of academia into the real world. You then proceed to the CL and have a massive choice of where to pitch. Worth pulling up and walking the whole site, we were in a hurry before choosing. Extra cables will enhance your visit. What more do you need, super CL.

Enjoyable stay

We stayed here for four nights enroute to Hampshire. This is a lovely site a good mile and a half from the main road, accessed by a private concrete farm road, entry is gained via a coded entry gate (remember to write the code down from confirmation E.mail if arriving Sat pm ) . The site is full of trees and is very quiet and peaceful, Don't be put off by the trains as we hardly heard them. The park and ride into Oxford is nearby, we I'll definitely be returning !!

Loved it.

We stopped here for one night only and loved it. We shall be back for a longer stay, but we won't be moving until the end of the stay. Reading, cooking and relaxing will be it. There was a train nearby, but it was quiet and infrequent. Plenty of space and privacy.
