If you are looking for a basic campsite that is tranquil with lots of birdsong this is the place. The dog walks from the site or by car were numerous. If you enjoy plane spotting then you can see the planes from RAF Coningsby (typhoons & BBMF) and if you like fishing it looks an amazing spot! The Bluebell Inn just up the lane sells lovely food. Steve was a helpful, friendly guy and we will definitely return.
good value for money
Its £9 a night with hook up wild life good, walks great, fishing great, the owner nice guy very helpful offered me the pick up to take my fishing tackle down to lakes and also offered to pick wife up if we walked to far.
you only get what you pay for.... oh yes the eggs from the house next door are real good.....
Only if necessary
Rather uncared for and in need of a little TLC. Though if you need to be in the area it fits the purpose. Though better ones around. We went to the Thorpe army camp 1940's weekend which is walking distance. Have been before and ask to go in the overspill site, a field, it's preferable.
The owner is a likeable chap, bit like the carry on camping site owner. He accepts it's all a bit below par and admits he ought to do this and that, I suggested closing it and just keep the over spill field.
Rather nice pub in village spoiled by couldn't care less landlord. Typical food from a pub food supplier, boil in the bag or freezer to deep fat fryer to plate followed by "is everything alright for you?" oh lovely thank you.
