Returned to site after a 9yr gap, site has grown since then, a significant amount of permanent looking caravans otherside of hedge, many in poor state of repair, would appear to be for various workers as lots of work van parked up, smelt of non tobacco based smoking at wknd. The shower and toilet facilities are grim at best, haven't been cleaned in a while, most in our group refused to use them full stop, after a shower you would probably end up dirtier, a black mould covered pallet was in the shower cubicle and the walls were also damp and mould covered, the toilet on occasion was like Glastonbury on a bad day.The CL part of the site is fine, but the additional facilities are a no go. If you want a CL with hook up, water and toilet emptying then it's fine, but use your own on board facilities.
Also the 5 van limit on CL sites was only followed in spirt.
Peaceful, basic site
Didn't know what to expect after seeing the reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Confusing on entry because the CAMC sign was low down and the arrow to the left not obvious, likewise the sign further down the lane but we found it ok in the end. Think some people have tried to go in the wrong site. We were on our own there. We certainly thought it ok for a couple of nights, no longer for us because no toilet on the cl itself. This was stated on the website so was not expected. Our draw was location which was excellent. We would use again.

very overpriced
This was a return visit after a number of years and the CL area we remember has been taken over by 14 very old and scruffy caravans which appear to house (foreign?) workers. We certainly did not see any females.
The current CL is immediately behind a dividing hedge with level mown grass and a concrete runway up the middle. The facilities are less than basic with overflowing dustbins, a tap not secured to it's mounting and an elsan point which was blocked and had to be rodded. The site was also constantly used by dog walkers. We were not able to access the wifi until the third day and feel that £14 a night, shortly going up to £15 is NOT good value for money. We will not be returning.
confusing set up
Stayed in May for 4 nights.
site adjacent to three fields of what appears to be a commercial site needing some TLC
CL site was tidy. Was not given WiFi password. TV and phone cover average
expensive for what it is !!
An enjoyable stay
A lovely flat, well drained field, surrounded by high hedges, cascades of wild roses and red kites! Even though we endured rain of biblical proportions, there was no problem at all with the ground. The facilities are the basic minimum but are well kept and clean. Access to places of interest is easy either by car or the bus, which stops almost outside the gates. The main road does cause some noise during the day, but it is very quiet at night. The close proximity of the main road does mean that the site is very easy to find and access. A caravan club sign outside the main gate would be helpful. There is one inside the gates but by the time we saw it, we had gone by and we then had to back up on what proved to be a busy road. Reg, the manager is very helpful and full of local information. The two commercial sites adjacent to the CL did not cause any problems to us, the CL is tucked round behind them.
We spent a week there, and had a very enjoyable time.
It provides a place to stay
We have just had 10days staying at this site. It consists of three fields 2 are run as a commercial site for caravans. The CL site is at the rear with a large concrete drive up the middle with grass either side. It feels that a little more work could be done to improve the look of the site. It is a quite place to stay with Red Kites flying over during the day which is great to watch. A small shop provides your daily needs. Also two eating houses were you can walk too. You can walk to Wallingford Town or along the Thames River tow path. This site provides a place to stay for Oxford and surrounding the areas. It looks like the CL might be moved as more Electric Hook ups have been put in, to make another commercial site.

It did the job
Stayed for a couple of nights in early July mainly to visit Pendon Museum and the Didcot Railway Centre. There's about sixty metres of concrete roadway with pitching on either side - looking like its to become part of the adjacent commercial site (?) on which the rather dated facilities are to be found.

Functional cl
Visited this site over may bank holiday.
Cl is tucked around the back of a commercial site which appeared to have mostly seasonal pitches. There was quite a big hedge so this area was not overlooked.
The cl itself has a decent concrete road with grass either side. Nice sunny spot. Water taps and both end of field a with loo and waste at one end.
Dog walking available in the adjoining fields, beware of the pheasants and rabbits.
Reg the manager was friendly enough and popped round most days.
The site is a bit unkept in the immediate area is obviously going to be developed but not quite getting on with it.
Easy 15 mins walk into Wallingford. With a little shop selling everything for daily essentials about 5 mins away. A hungry horse pub and a thia pub also about 5 mins walk.
River Thames about 10 mins walk. Footpath along a road all the way.
Decent walks along the Thames path would be pushchairs and wheelchair assessible for a short way.
There are showers and toilets on site but they are much to be desired although I was told the water was lovely and hot.
Defiantly would return to this site again as so peaceful even though it was full.
Red kites circled overhead and a deer walked past the caravan , the pheasants just strut about looking important.
