The site is level and pitches aren’t assigned but plenty of room for 5 units so you can select your view. The waste facilities are good and well screened. Views are beautiful and with virtually no noise from road or commuter rail
line. Easy walk along road or via the river path into Sanquhar which has all basic facilities and lots to commend it in terms of history. The Arts centre has a lovely coffee shop and the Tollbooth museum which is free was more than expected with a very helpful staff member. It’s worth heeding the advice from Frances at the CL to make the most of the area. Would highly recommend the site and it’s certainly value for money.
Lovely spacious site
A real gem of site. It's big with no marked piches because it is all grass, but there is plenty of room for everyone. Only 5 minutes walk from Sanquhar which has pubs, hotels, shops and a nice swimming pool. Frances is a mine of informatiuon, but is hard to find given how busy she is. I could not get the wifi to work but, to be fair, I didn't ask about this. It's cheap by current stanrds so I will probably be back.
Price of Heaven
Site is very easy to find, access directly off the main road. Glorious views of the countryside. Given you are on a hill, the Site is almost level and billiard table mown grass. Ideal for motor homes but a little hard to get pegs in for awning. Frances was very friendly and full of information. All facilities easily labelled. She does have a proper MH Waste point but ask where as it’s not actually on the CL. We didn’t get the WiFi but the Mobile signal and TV were excellent. If you like watching trains and planes it’s ideal. We saw some “excursion specials” pass by, hoped maybe a steam train but none were due. Seems to be a direct flight path for many aircraft so have your camera and binoculars ready. The dog walk is clearly labelled and you can continue to the riverside walk, or into Sanquhar which is only less than half a Mile for shops etc. Lots of walking farther afield if you wish. The Southern Upland way passes close by. We got fresh eggs from the farm across the road. Sadly the Castle is fenced off as unsafe. You can take a pleasant walk by the river to Euchan Well. Yes you can hear the road a bit at busy times but it didn’t disturb us and the nights are very peaceful. So much in the area to visit we will come again.
We were the only ones there
We were touring the area visiting gardens during Chelsea Flower Festival Week and really wanted the Wi-fi so booked this site for one night. The owner said that the fee was normally £18 although the web site said £17.50, no big deal but as we were only staying for one night it would be £20. This was because she had experienced wild camper using the site to empty the loo and top up the water and battery. We didn't need to empty the loo or fill the tank with water as we always do this every couple of days so as not to carry excessive weight about with us.
Got there we were on our own. No one came and we had a brew and food and turned on the laptop. No signal, tried our phones and again no signal. Missed out on watching Chelsea. As dusk approached took our payment to a farmhouse and was greeted by an endless amount of information about the area we had already investigated and decided to visit. Eventually managed to get to ask about the wi-fi and were told we could go up to the parch to log in.
Nice site level with a view over the countryside but somewhat disappointing as the main reason were selected this site was not available.

Peaceful site
The site was easy to find. We had booked by e mail, and others on the site told us it was fine just to pitch up. We didnt see the owner at all, which was OK except that we had to find out from other campers where to leave our money as there was no one at the house.
The pitches seemed well drained, most need levelling blocks.
Splendid views of farm land and surrounding hills.
Although close to a main road and a rail line it was really quiet at night, there was no traffic disturbance.
The toilet waste required the lifting of a ground based manhole cover, but it was clean.
We would use again if in the area.

Wonderful site
We had a 2022 winter stay here and, in spite of some challengingly cold weather, it felt most comfortable, safe and secure. The site is sheltered and so felt great in the winter weather. The views are stunning and the immediate surroundings pretty. The site is well set out, clean and tidy. Transport links are good - the A76 is just outside the farm (traffic noise is low as the site is at a distance and different level from the road) making trips to Dumfries and other parts of Dumfries and Galloway (also Ayrshire) easy. Carlisle is also within easy reach and great for visits for shopping, eating out and interesting historical sites. There is also a good bus service (246) to Dumfries (and north into Ayrshire), very reliable. Sanqhuar - a 5-10 minute walk away - also has a train station. The town has good grocery shopping and some nice eating places. Walking is fantastic - from gentle and lovely low-level river walks or climbs up into the Southern Upland Way (easily accessible from within Sanqhuar). The castle is majestic on the skyline with a most interesting history - hopefully one day Historic Scotland may buy it, take care of it and make more of it. Frances is a wonderful host - friendly, kind and informative - readily available when help is needed but leaving you in peace otherwise. Very highly recommended for short or longer stays.
Great Views
Nice find. We were only here for one night after visiting friends locally but it's definitely worth a second visit.
Beautiful view from the site and a great dog walk straight out of the gate.
Frances is a lovely lady and was very helpful with local knowledge and passionate about the area.
Flat pitch, waste/rubbish disposal and fresh water available.
Went past the camp on the main road at first as did another van. Keep your eyes peeled for the CAMC sign.

Beautiful and peaceful site
We spent nearly two and a half weeks in this lovely site which is a real haven of peace and natural beauty. Even though the A76 is just outside the farm the site is placed such that there is almost no awareness of the road at all. The site owner, Frances, is delightful - very welcoming and so well informed about the local history. She also very kindly delivered rolls to us on request. The surrounding countryside is stunninlgy beautiful with many lovely drives and walks straight from the site. The site is simple but providing all the necessaries in an excellent way. Very highly recommended. This is a site we will return to often at any time of the year.
Very friendly and peaceful site
Stayed here in June 2022 had a very pleasant stay , went into the village and looked around including the museum which was very interesting. The owners of the site were very friendly and very helpful.
Nice, peaceful site
Despite being quite near the main road this is a very peaceful site. Well thought out facilities - with grass cover over a stony underlay. Lovely views and a nice walk available down to the river. Thoroughly recommend,
