Mosergh Farm Caravan Site

We stayed 9 nights in early July 2022. The site has Fantastic Views towards Kendal. The road up to the farm is single track so don't arrive early as there is no passing points. Hard standing is provided for all the pitches which vary in depth as well as slope (you will need blocks - but also there are plenty provided as well). The site is very quiet although with the usual working farm noises which you have to expect on a farm. Each pitch has it's own water tap and we had no problems with water pressure with the hose directly connected to the caravan system. Toilet emptying facilities are fine - but could do with a small fence for discretion of others. The CL is well maintained with short well kept grass and bins empty almost daily. We would certainly return for another visit when in this area. Thanks
Not perfect but very nice CL
We stayed just before Easter 2022.
The site has beautiful views and a hard standing is provided for the caravan. Most pitches slope a little but large lumps of wood were provided if necessary to level the caravan.
Generally the site is very quiet although one morning we were woken at 7am by some farm machinery making rather a noise.
Each pitch benefits from it's own water tap, however this is because the water pressure is so poor that it takes 20mins to fill a 40ltr aquarole. Also the water pressure is not sufficient to operate a float valve in an aquarole to make it completely filling free. A hose is an essential as I would usually fill the water while I was off doing something else because it took so long.
There was some barking from the farm dogs but we never actually saw one.
Toilet emptying facilities are good.
We would certainly consider a return visit.

Just beautiful and so tranquil
Wow what an amazing little CL site, we absolutely loved it! The views are spectacular, we enjoyed waking up to the beautiful views of the fells and the lovely country walks along countless footpaths and bridleways, up the fells and down to the river in Longsleddle - the pitches are fab, hard standing with electricity and water, so convenient, no need to walk miles to the water tap like you do with most other campsites. Easy access just off the A6, we have a 7.5 metre long camper and had no problem getting in and out of the campsite. It’s literally only about 150yards off the main road, also the system in place is no arrivals before 12pm and leave by 11.30am, this alleviates any problems in meeting other campers on the lane. We had our little dog with us and there was absolutely no problem with the farm dogs - the owners Margaret, James and David are so friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. So lovely to be close to a town but far enough away to feel completely peaceful, none of the madness that goes with campsites closer to the South Lakes, peaceful and tranquil. We would highly recommend and can’t wait to return.

Idyllic Location
This CL is just what was needed after a poor season so far due to Covid.
A very neat and tidy venue. The views were spectacular particularly when the sun was setting. Every effort has been made to make use of the facilities as easy as possible; Water and Electrics for each pitch was most welcome.
Kendal was just 4 miles away, with plenty of services in and around the town.
If we were to venture into the Lake District again then this is the site we would aim for.
Well done to James and Margaret..
Perfect peaceful weekend
We spent our first weekend back in the Lakes after lockdown here . Great spot for walking , walked from the site straight on to the Bannisdale Horseshoe. We walked for 10 miles and didn't see another person but we did hear a cuckoo, first of the year.
We didn't get to meet James or Margaret who were busy working but meeting David more than made up for that. David gave us great introduction to the farm its history, local places and the lambs who stole my heart and we were able to help feed.
Quiet spot, beautiful scenery, we chose to stay on the farm but Kendal only 5 miles away, and Longsleddale valley within walking distance.
Definitely coming back here
Peaceful site
Had read the review on this site and was a bit hesitant about taking our dog but we didn't have any problems, we saw the farm dog whilst out walking but never saw it running loose around the farmyard or near the actual site. Great walks minutes from the site.
Very peaceful site ..... pitches are quite c!ose together so potential for lack of privacy with awnings and cars, that said we didn't have issues as site not full. The views are lovely and there is everything you need.
Spoke to David a couple of times who was helpful and friendly but other than that we were left alone - perfect for us!! We will return....
Lovely site, well maintained
A friendly welcome with the gate being opened for us immediately on arrival. That set the scene for the next three days, knowing that if we needed any assistance, it was there for the asking. Despite arriving in a storm, we were sheltered enough to make sure the motorhome wasn’t rocking too much in the wind.
Some of the pitches are a little more level than others, though all will require using levelling ramps on these hard standing pitches.
Nice walks to be had. Lots of livestock in this working farm, including some chickens and their chicks mooching free-range.
Sadly we won’t return
This review unfortunately has two points
The site is beautiful to say the least,,nothing short of perfect for people looking for a quiet break,,,a helpful friendly guy who runs the site who seems to be on hand if needed. Gorgeous views ...but what we loved about it was the lovely dog walk up the fells a minute away from the site. Now sadly to the second point,,,if you have a dog BE CAREFUL!!!!because on our return from our walk , to our horror, the farm dog attacked our little dog who was on a lead and quite happily minding her own business. I had to scoop her up in my arms but the farm dog leapt up and bit her and wouldn’t let go dangling off her rear end. This incident traumatised my dog, myself and my husband. There was no apology from the owner ..but a heartfelt apology from the lovely guy who runs the place but unfortunately the whole experience had ruined our trip and we won’t be returning. Such a shame too as I loved this site.
I was in two minds as to whether I should leave this review...hopefully this was an isolated incident and will NEVER happen again.
Autumn Break
Stayed here for first time and was delighted by this find. What an unspoilt corner of the lakes. Mountain biking from the site, but also up the amazing ‘other’ Borrowdale. Very wet, and a motor home managed to go off the hard and get stuck, but James sorted it with a tractor pull. Pitches quite small and not level, more suitable for vans than motor homes. Will def be back!
